Location of Center (4:00 PM): The center of Tropical Depression “AMANG” was estimated based on all available data at 130 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 250 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte (14.1°N, 125.3°E)
Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1002 hPa
Present Movement: Westward at 30 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong winds extend outwards up to 300 km from the center

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS
Heavy Rainfall Outlook
Forecast accumulated rainfall from this afternoon until tonight
• Heavy rains (50-100 mm): Bicol Region and Northern Samar
Forecast accumulated rainfall from this afternoon until Thursday evening
• Intense rains (100-200 mm): Northern portion of Quezon and the eastern portion of Laguna
• Heavy rains (50-100 mm): Rizal, southern portion of Aurora, the rest of Laguna and Quezon
Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazard as identified in hazard maps and in localities that experienced considerable amounts of rainfall for the past several days.
Severe Winds
• Areas under Wind Signal No. 1 may experience strong winds (strong breeze to near gale strength) associated with Tropical Depression “AMANG” which may pose minimal to minor threat to life and property.
• Wind Signal No. 1 may be hoisted in other localities in Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley in succeeding bulletins.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
• Under the influence of the Tropical Depression, a marine gale warning is in effect over Catanduanes, the eastern coasts of Albay and Sorsogon, and the northern and eastern coasts of Northern Samar and Eastern Samar. For more information, refer to Gale Warning #2 issued at 5:00 PM today.
• In the next 24 hours, moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 2.8 m) over the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Eastern Visayas that are not under any gale warning. Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• For the next 24 hours, “AMANG” is forecast to track generally westward or west northwestward towards Bicol Region today before turning west northwestward or northwestward for the remainder of the forecast period. While the current track forecast shows that the tropical depression will remain offshore over the waters east of Luzon for the next 3 days, the forecast confidence cone shows that a landfall scenario over the Bicol Peninsula area is not ruled out (may pass over or very close near Catanduanes), especially for the next 9 hours.
• Throughout the forecast period, “AMANG” is forecast to remain as a tropical depression, with the possibility of weakening into a low pressure area by late Thursday or early Friday.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
