Participants Conclude Ikat Weaving Workshop with Pride and Purpose

With hands shaped by patience and creativity, participants of the Ikat Weaving Workshop proudly showcased the culmination of their learning journey, reflecting the enduring beauty of the Isinay weaving tradition and the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural identity.

The meaningful activity was attended by the Isinay Advocates, Punong Barangay Hon. John L. Angat of Barangay Bagumbayan, IPMR Sherlock Jama E. Magaway, representatives from the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office, and Aruga Handwovens headed by Ms. Jeannie Laccay, which initiated and organized the workshop in support of preserving and promoting indigenous weaving traditions. Throughout the workshop, participants deepened their appreciation for the art of ikat weaving, a tradition woven with history, identity, and shared heritage.

More than a workshop, the activity became a celebration of unity, learning, and cultural pride, as each woven thread symbolized the dedication of the participants and the collective effort to keep the Isinay weaving tradition alive for future generations.
