The Department of Science and Technology – Negros Island Region (DOST NIR) warmly welcomes Engr. Joel O. Legaspi as its newly hired Chief Science Research Specialist and newly designated Provincial Director of the DOST Negros Oriental Provincial Science and Technology Office (DOST Negros Oriental PSTO).

In his new role, Engr. Legaspi will lead the delivery of DOST programs, projects, and services in Negros Oriental, helping bring science, technology, and innovation closer to communities and responding to the province’s development needs and priorities.

As Provincial S&T Director, he will also work closely with local government units, academic institutions, industries, MSMEs, communities, and other partners to promote the use of science- and technology-based solutions. Through stronger collaboration and meaningful partnerships, DOST NIR hopes to create more opportunities for innovation, support local enterprises, improve communities’ quality of life, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient Negros Oriental.
