To qualify for and enjoy the benefits of the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Programs, applicants must enroll in any identified Priority Science and Technology program offered by a State University or College (SUC) or by private institutions whose Priority S&T programs are recognized by CHED as Centers of Excellence or Centers of Development, or have FAAP Level III accreditation.

The results for the AY 2026–2027 Undergraduate Scholarship are coming soon—but have you finalized your school and degree program yet?

We’re sharing the list of priority Science and Technology (S&T) degree programs and recognized schools across Western Visayas and Negros Occidental.

To qualify for and enjoy the benefits of the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Program, you must enroll in a priority S&T degree program offered by a State University or College (SUC) or a DOST-SEI-recognized private Higher Education Institution (HEI).

The Department of Science and Technology – Negros Island Region (DOST-NIR) warmly welcomes Dr. Naomi Cossette R. Luis as the newly appointed Regional Director.

Her appointment marks a significant step in further strengthening the region’s initiatives in science, technology, and innovation. With her leadership and dedication to public service, DOST-NIR remains committed to advancing inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development across the Negros Island Region.

As Dr. Luis begins this new chapter of leadership, the entire DOST-NIR family extends its heartfelt congratulations and full support, with hopes for continued success and meaningful accomplishments in advancing science, technology, and innovation in the region.

DOST NIR Appoints New Provincial Director for Siquijor

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Negros Island Region (NIR) has officially appointed Macbeth S. Dal, as the new Provincial Science and Technology Director (PSTD) of Siquijor.

She took her oath before Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, Undersecretary for Regional Operations, together with Assistant Secretary for Countryside Development, Engr. Ma. Teresa B. De Guzman and Atty. Gilbert R. Arbon, OIC-Regional Director of DOST NIR.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Dal served as Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO), where she led various science, technology, and innovation (STI) initiatives, including support to MSMEs, digitalization efforts, and community-based programs.

Her leadership is expected to further strengthen DOST initiatives in the province and advance inclusive, science-driven development for the people of Siquijor.

𝐃𝐎𝐄 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐑 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐚 𝟗𝟖.𝟖𝟗% 𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐏 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Department of Energy (DOE) commends the Department of Science and Technology – Negros Island Region (DOST-NIR) for achieving an outstanding 98.89% compliance rating, equivalent to 5 stars, during the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) spot check conducted by the Department of Energy (DOE) on April 22, 2026.

The assessment covered key areas such as the institutionalization of energy efficiency and conservation measures, electricity-saving practices, fuel conservation initiatives, and the submission of required reports and inventories, ensuring active contribution to national energy conservation and sustainability goals.

We have a new map!

The Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal-REIINN Project of the DOST Advanced Science and Technology Institute now calls Negros as its first home in the Visayas, with the deployment of REIINN Technologies produced by Jassen Harris Industries Corp. (Makerlab ph) in Baslay Elementary School, Maayongtubig Elementary School, and Apo Island High School, Dauin District, Negros Oriental.

This milestone will not be possible if not for the efforts of the DOST - ASTI Technology Licensing Office, DOST Negros Island Region, DOST Negros Oriental Provincial Science & Technology Office, and Office of The Mayor - LGU Dauin.
