With the full support of Governor Manuel Chaco Sagarbarria, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Negros Oriental, headed by PESO Manager Alein S. Balsamo, in partnership with Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), successfully conducted the NORSU Job Fair at the NORSU Main Campus Gymnasium, Dumaguete City.
The activity provided NORSU graduating students, alumni, and other job seekers with direct access to hiring companies and recruitment agencies, supporting their entry into the workforce.
A total of 255 applicants participated in the job fair, with 165 applicants exploring local employment opportunities and 90 applicants seeking overseas jobs. As a result of the recruitment activity, 44 applicants were hired on the spot (HOTS), including 41 local hires and 3 overseas hires, providing immediate employment opportunities for successful applicants.
Among the most in-demand local positions were Call Center Agents, Production Operators, and Sales Clerks, reflecting the continued demand for workers in the business process outsourcing, manufacturing, and retail sectors.
For overseas employment, the most sought-after vacancies included Female Cleaners, Factory Workers, and Housekeeping Personnel, providing opportunities for applicants interested in pursuing careers abroad.
The activity forms part of the Provincial Government's continuing efforts to strengthen employment facilitation services by connecting students, graduates, and job seekers with potential employers.
