The Department of Health Negros Island Region Center for Health Development (DOH NIR CHD) informs the public that it will participate in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 4, 2026 at 4:00 PM, in compliance with the directive of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No.04, s. 2026.

During the scheduled drill, employees and visitors within DOH NIR CHD premises will perform the standard earthquake safety procedure โ€œDuck, Cover, and Hold.โ€ Temporary movement of personnel to designated evacuation areas may also be observed as part of the exercise.

The public is advised that this activity is only a simulation exercise aimed at strengthening earthquake preparedness and response capabilities of personnel and stakeholders.

We encourage everyone to participate and to stay calm while the drill is being conducted.

The Department of Health Negros Island Region (DOH NIR), in collaboration with Bago City Elementary School, Bago City Primary Care Facility, the Provincial Health Office, and the LGU of Bago City, successfully conducted a dengue awareness activity at Bago City Elementary School, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and community partners in the fight against dengue.

The activity served as a platform to educate participants on dengue prevention, the importance of maintaining a clean environment, and the role of families and communities in eliminating mosquito breeding sites. Through shared learning and active participation, awareness was strengthened among both students and parents.

โœจ Together, we continue to build a safer, healthier, and dengue-free future for every Filipino as we work toward our shared goal of Zero Dengue Deaths by 2030.

In Negros Oriental, the journey toward stronger health systems continues to unfold. Recently, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) gathered for a Local Health Systems - Maturity Level (LHS-ML) Consultative Meeting, a crucial step in ensuring that every community receives the care it deserves.

The meeting was not just about numbers or reportsโ€”it was about progress. Updates on the Means of Verification (MOVs) were shared, showing where the province stands and what still needs to be achieved.

At the heart of the discussion was Dr. Liland Zoila B. Estacion, whose presence underscored the importance of leadership in guiding this effort. Alongside her were the dedicated Development Management Officers ( DMOs), working hand-in-hand to push the health system forward.

Supporting them were the focal persons from the Department of Health Negros Island Region Center for Health Development (DOH NIR CHD), who gladly offered their expertise and assistance. Their role is vital: helping the province meet the MOVs and move closer to a more mature, resilient health system.
