U4U Teen Trail - Youth for Youth: Empowering the Next Generation

LOOK: The Dumaguete Youth Leaders for Development (DYLD), a youth organization that advocates Adolescent Health and Development trained and organized by the Commission on Population and Development with the collaboration of Local Youth Development Office of Dumaguete City has successfully led and conducted the U4U Teen Trail meaning the Youth for Youth. The Campaign talks about common issues of adolescence and teens such as: Teenage Pregnancy, Drug Addiction, HIV and AIDS.

It delves into the unique perspectives, skills, and motivations of youth, highlighting their potential as agents of change. The U4U further analyzes the benefits of youth-led initiatives, emphasizing their ability to foster inclusivity, amplify marginalized voices, and build sustainable solutions.

Youth-led initiatives offer numerous benefits, both for young people themselves and for the wider community.

The DAYO (Daro Youth Organization), a youth organization that advocates Adolescent Health and Development that were trained and organized by the City Population Office in partnership with the Local Youth and Development Office of Dumaguete City has successfully led and conducted the Basic Course Training on Adolescent Health and Development Program (AHDP)

The 3- day event was graced with the presence of The Barangay Daro Councilors: Theo, Andrew, Thirdy and Bill John delivered their welcome address and inspirational messages.

To the invited speakers Thyrone Sarne and Jerahfel Quezon Japinan as one of the members of Dumaguete Youth Leaders for Development (DYLD), thank you so much for your effort and for sharing your knowledge and ideas on the said training.

The City Government of Dumaguete through the Local Youth Development Office headed by Mr. Tigie James R. Tanilon in collaboration with the City Population Office - Dumaguete City headed by our City Population Officer, Mrs. Maria Socorro P. Mira, Youth Focal Persons Mrs Bb. Girl Suzette Somoray and Ariel Enjerto and the Dumaguete Youth Leaders for Development (DYLD) resource speakers spearheaded a seminar-training for Ladderized Peer Education Training Program Level 2 ( Peer Facilitating and Life Skills Training ) - LPET Training which was participated by the selected private school students of Dumaguete City.

The City Population Office of Dumaguete conducted a seminar on "Prevention of Teenage Pregnancy" in collaboration with the Social Work interns from Silliman University at Brgy. Poblacion I, Dumaguete City on April 15, 2024.

The lecturers talk about the causes, prevention and consequences of teenage pregnancy. The main objective is to encourage young people NOT to engage in early sexual encounter so as to prevent early pregnancy.
