ENVIRONMENTAL WALK 2026: Community Unites to Protect Don Marcelino’s Coastline
The Municipality of Don Marcelino successfully conducted the Environmental Walk 2026, bringing together volunteers, partner organizations, and local stakeholders in a united effort to protect and preserve our coastal environment.
Participants traversed a total of 6.81 kilometers of shoreline, from Sitio Migdolog, Barangay Talaguton to Sitio Looban, Barangay Lawa, collecting litter and promoting environmental stewardship through collective action. The activity served as a meaningful observance of Philippine Environment Month and demonstrated that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility.
The Local Government Unit of Don Marcelino extends its sincere gratitude to our Local Chief Executive, Dr. Mark Edward Anthony M. Maruya for his unwavering support and commitment to environmental protection, which greatly contributed to the success of this activity.
We also express our heartfelt appreciation to all participating organizations and volunteers, especially
BURIT Inc.,
Highway Uno Youth,
BAKTAS Outdoors,
Nueva Villa Katkat,
and the Hikers and Trail Runners of Davao Occidental,
for generously sharing their time, energy, and passion in making this initiative a success.
Our gratitude likewise goes to the Barangay Local Government Units of Talaguton, Kinanga, and Lawa for their invaluable cooperation and assistance throughout the conduct of the activity.
To everyone who joined us, thank you for proving that when a community works together, meaningful change is possible. May this successful Environmental Walk inspire more initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and strengthen our commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Don Marcelino.
Together, we walk. Together, we protect. Together, we make a difference. 🌱💚
