A total of 30 dedicated rubber farmers and tappers from across the municipality participated in this capacity-building activity aimed at boosting local rubber productivity and sustainable farm management.

On July 24, 2026, cacao farmers from Don Carlos and Maramag, Bukidnon gathered at the Municipal Demo-Farm and Nursery in Barangay Sinangguyan for the Cacao Regenerative Farming System (CRFS) Training Caravan! ๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿ’š

Through interactive lectures and hands-on field demonstrations, participants gained practical, sustainable techniques to increase productivity while nurturing the ecosystem:
โœ‚๏ธ Proper cacao tree pruning methods
๐Ÿงช Preparation and application of Natural Farming Technology Systems (NFTS)

About the Collaboration & Initiative:

CRFS Program: A cacao development initiative implemented by LOMERADOS in partnership with MEDA, aimed at strengthening cacao farming systems in Bukidnon through regenerative and climate-resilient practices.

LOMERADOS: A Mindanao-based social enterprise focused on regenerative agriculture systems, cacao value chain development, and farmer enterprise strengthening.

We are pleased to report the successful conduct of the Recognition of Active Surveillance (RAS) for African Swine Fever (ASF): Blood Sampling and Collection Activity, actively participated in by 29 barangays of Don Carlos, Bukidnon!

This crucial biosecurity initiative was facilitated by the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), with the dedicated assistance of our Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMA). Special thanks to Ms. Nova Q. Ballentes, our Municipal ASF Focal, for facilitating the smooth flow of the operations.

Active surveillance is our strongest shield against ASF. By conducting regular blood sampling, we can:

1. Early Detection & Prevention: Spot potential risks before they spread, protecting healthy hog populations.

2. Secure Livelihoods: Safeguard the investments of our local backyard and commercial swine raisers from devastating economic losses.

3. Community Resilience: Maintain a steady, safe food supply and keep the local swine industry thriving and virus-free.
