🌡️ HEAT ALERT: Stay Safe During Extreme Heat in the Philippines 🇵🇭
The heat index across many parts of the country continues to rise, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and outdoor workers.
⚠️ COMMON SYMPTOMS OF HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES:
🔸 Excessive sweating
🔸 Dizziness or fainting
🔸 Headache
🔸 Muscle cramps
🔸 Nausea or vomiting
🔸 Rapid heartbeat
🔸 Extreme thirst
🔸 Confusion or loss of consciousness
🛡️ PREVENTIVE MEASURES:
✅ Drink plenty of water throughout the day
✅ Avoid direct sun exposure between 10 AM – 4 PM
✅ Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Use umbrellas, hats, or cooling towels outdoors
✅ Stay in shaded or well-ventilated areas
✅ Avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours
✅ Never leave children or pets inside parked vehicles
🚨 EMERGENCY RESPONSE:
