The eagerness of over 1000 graduating senior high school learners, along with their advisers and school heads from the northern schools of the Division, drives out the rain to attend the second run of GABAY ZaNorte Division Career Expo 2026.

Highlights

Gearing learners with information about the endless opportunities and tips to be future ready counting the days they will graduate and exit the basic education, the career expo made possible through the solid support of partner national government agencies such as the CHEd-IX, DOST-ZN, DTI-ZN, TESDA-ZN, DOLE-ZN; higher education institutions such as MSU Main Campus Sindangan Extension, Jose Rizal Memorial State U-Main Campus, DMC College Foundation, St. Vincent College, Andres Bonifacio College; Local Governmet of Unit of Pres. Manuel Roxas Tourism Office; financing institutions such as GA Alano and Sons, Real Credit, Katipunan Bank; Globe Dipolog Lee Plaza, DC Artisan, Dโ€™Hotel , SECC, Vannix. Exhibits gave wide arrays of opportunities to explore with the career passport guide.

Dr. Mary Antoinette Wahing, one of the invited guest speaker, shared how she courageously muster daily hurdles and difficulties, who lost her parents early in her life. Her story is a beautiful reminder, that through believing in oneself- you can rewrite your destiny and make your dreams possible through sheer determination. One can succeed from trials and riddles of life.

Mr. Nikko Balmoria shared a master class story of building a successful business. More so, as he narrated his journey -his indomitable spirit to survive in his early years working as a baker while completing his studies as a working scholar. He explored avenues to test his skills and prudence in finances helped him ok becoming a successful entrepreneur.

March 04, 2026 -SINDANGAN ZDN.

Over 1,700 graduating senior high school learners with their advisers and school heads from Cluster III & IV were in attendance to the first run of GABAY ZaNorte Division Career Expo 2026 at Sindangan Peopleโ€™s Cultural and Sports Center.

The activity is a gateway for graduating SHS learners to explore endless possibilities to meet and connect with representatives from different National Government Agencies such as the DOST, DTI, TESDA, DOLE and Higher Education Institutions such as Mindanao State University Main Campus Sindangan Extension, Jose Rizal Memorial State University Tampilisan Campus, St. Joseph College of Sindangan Inc, DMC College Foundation, St. Vincent College Inc., Andres Bonifacio College, Phil. Advent College, and local financing institutions. This adds to their information that helps them make informed decisions on their future after basic education.

Highlights:

Dr. Zyhrine P. Mayormita, one of speaker during the Career Talks Serye shared her humble beginnings who tried her luck to pursue higher education through a DOST scholarship. She directs her passion to the realities of the time when the only available course supported with full scholarship is chemical engineering. She propelled herself further to graduate studies and completed those through sheer determination, creativity and constant innovation as needs of time.

Engr. Je Thro V. Tabotabo, promising Eletrical Engineer in the locality shared his indomitable spirit to complete his education during the time of COVID 19 pandemic. He emphasized to never loose eye of your dream despite of the peculiar circumstances and challenges of time. He mentioned that he is one of the participants of the Education Fair the Division once co-hosted with partner nonprofit organization Edukasyon.ph and a pioneer Senior High School program completer/ graduate (completed the full K-12 Curriculum since its implementation)

Atty. Dolf Green Marco shared that the lessons and skills in basic education are crucial building blocks to learn higher skills and cope with challenges besetting their paths to their dreams. He mentioned examples from his high school days in Sindangan National Agricultural School - many times he stepped up on his way as student host, moderator, contestant to various competition including a memorable one-completing a performance task of planting rice seedlings having it redone which taught him patience with the outcome.

ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE LEARNERSโ€™ CONVERGENCE

Selected student leaders from across the province gathered at Makayla Hall, Mibang Hotel, Dipolog City for two meaningful days of leadership, collaboration, and empowerment during the Zamboanga del Norte Learnersโ€™ Convergence held on February 16โ€“17, 2026.

With the theme โ€œTeach Resilience, Amplify and Nurture Synergy and Creativity to Empower and Navigate Holistic Development (TRANSCEND) for Zamboanga del Norte Youth,โ€ the activity brought together Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers and their Teacher-Advisers in a dynamic platform for dialogue, innovation, and action.

The convergence aimed to strengthen the capacity of our young leaders in leadership, governance, civic engagement, and social responsibility. It provided a safe and empowering space for learners to exchange ideas, raise relevant concerns, and collaboratively design innovative, responsive projects that address real issues in their schools and communities.

We were honored by the special participation of Atty. Kay Marie P. Bolando, Sanguniang Panlalawigan Member, 3rd District, who shared valuable insights on Leadership, Governance, and Civic Engagement, and Ms. Arvin Laranjo of Dipag Rainbow Collective, who led an important discussion on Gender and Social Inclusivity which encouraged inclusivity, awareness, and meaningful youth participation in building safer and more equitable communities.

The event concluded with an inspiring Project Pitching session, where student leaders confidently presented innovative proposals aligned with the thematic areas of Leadership/Governance/Civic Engagement, Health and Wellness, and Gender and Social Inclusion demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and a deep commitment to service.

This convergence directly supports the leadership and youth development goals of the Department of Education by promoting participatory governance, strengthening student voice, and fostering holistic development academically competent, socially aware, emotionally resilient, and ethically grounded learners.

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) invites young Filipino artists, students and out-of-school youth aged 16 to 25, to take part in the Nationwide Digital Poster-Making Competition in celebration of the 2025 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week.

This competition transforms art into advocacy. Each digital poster becomes a statement of hope, health, and unityโ€”an expression of how the youth can lead the movement toward a Bagong Pilipinas that chooses well-being over substance use, compassion over indifference, and creativity over apathy.
