Steps for Inclusion: Fun Run for Autism Raises Php 56K for Learners with ASD
Dipolog City, August 12, 2025 — The spirit of community and compassion took center stage today as the Federated Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) of Dipolog City, in partnership with Growth Point, formally turned over Php 56,000 to support learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the Special Education Center.
The amount was raised during the Fun Run for Autism held on May 31, 2025, a charity event organized to cover the doctor’s fees for learners with ASD who have not yet undergone assessment or check-up from a neurodevelopmental pediatrician or similar specialists.
Leading the turnover were Ms. December Gay Carreon, Federated PTA President, and Ms. Rosary Faith P. Naquila, OTRP from Growth Point, who personally visited the school to hand the donation to former School PTA President, Ms. Blanch E. Miole. The activity was also graced by Ms. Jesel B. Chiu, Senior Education Program Specialist (SEPS) for Resource Mobilization and Networking.
A significant highlight of the gathering was the discussion and initial planning for the next Fun Run for a Cause, with the intention of making it an annual tradition to sustain support for children with special needs.
At present, the school is crafting a mechanism to identify the beneficiaries of the raised funds to ensure they reach learners who are most in need.
School Head Mr. Remryan Rebutazo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the benefactors, noting that “the community’s support reflects a growing commitment to inclusive education and an inclusive society.”
The school extends its deepest thanks to the Federated PTA, Growth Point, and all supporters whose collective efforts will bring vital medical assistance to learners with ASD, paving the way for a healthier, more inclusive future.
