The gathering sought to reposition history, arts, and culture as vital resources and guiding lenses for effective governance, sustainable development, and nation-building. It emphasized the role of Career Executive Service (CES) members as responsible duty bearers, dedicated stewards, and advocates of โdayawโโa concept that celebrates dignity, honor, and cultural pride. Through this initiative, CES leaders are inspired to cultivate partnerships and collective action in building a society that is inclusive, dynamic, and deeply rooted in Filipino traditions.
As part of the cultural immersion, participants explored the historic town of Taal widely regarded as a โliving museumโ richly endowed with colonial heritage. The itinerary included visits to the Bahay na Bato, ancestral mansions, centuries-old cathedrals, the majestic Casa Real, and other architectural icons that stand as testaments to the townโs storied past. Delegates also experienced age-old cultural crafts, native industries, and the distinct Batangueรฑo culinary heritage, savoring dishes that trace their roots back to 1572.
The โLugom Dayawโ not only deepened appreciation of Filipino culture but also reinforced the commitment of CES leaders like PARPO II Digamon and PARPO I Tan to uphold values of integrity, service, and cultural stewardship in their roles as public servants.
