Laoag City, Ilocos Norte - Provincial, city, and municipal Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs) gathered for their 1st Quarter LYDO Meeting on March 6, 2026, at the Provincial Auditorium, Ilocos Norte Capitol, Laoag City.
Organized by the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office (INYDO), the meeting brought together Local Youth Development Officers from across the province to discuss updates, initiatives, and key programs aimed at strengthening youth development efforts in their respective local government units.
Among the key agenda discussed was the continuation of the formalization of the Association of Youth Development Offices of Ilocos Norte, which aims to further strengthen coordination and collaboration among youth development offices in the province. The meeting also included discussions on the development of an Online Youth Database Archive, as well as updates on the 2026 Monitoring and Evaluation for Fiscal Year 2026.
Preparations for the 2026 Sangguniang Kabataan Elections were also highlighted, particularly the upcoming Sangguniang Kabataan Mandatory Training, which plays an essential role in preparing newly elected youth leaders for effective governance.
Other matters discussed included the accreditation status of Local Youth Development Officers, the proposed creation of an LYDO Manual, the Review and Examination Assistance Program Mapping, the Youth Volunteer Desk Program, and the promotion of the BAGANI Program of the Development Academy of the Philippines.
The meeting also served as a consultative platform where Local Youth Development Officers were able to raise concerns, share insights, and discuss challenges encountered in implementing youth development programs in their respective communities.
Through continued dialogue and collaboration, the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office remains committed to strengthening youth development mechanisms and supporting local initiatives that empower the Ilocano youth.
