11 BARANGAYS IN CAMARINES SUR DECLARED DRUG-CLEARED

Eleven barangays in Camarines Sur have been officially declared Drug-Cleared Barangays following their successful compliance with the standards and parameters set under the Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

The declaration was made during the Regional Oversight Committee on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program held on August 25, 2026, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur.

The newly declared drug-cleared barangays are Inoyonan and Ombao Polpog in Bula; San Francisco and San Antonio Quipayo in Calabanga; Handong in Libmanan; Alianza and Tagpocol in San Fernando; and Sagrada, San Roque, Olag Pequeño, and La Purisima in Tinambac.

The barangays earned their drug-cleared status after meeting the requirements prescribed by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) under DDB Board Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021. Among the key parameters considered were the non-availability of illegal drug supply and drug infrastructure, absence of drug personalities, and the presence of active institutional responses and programs addressing the illegal drug problem at the community level.

The achievement underscores the importance of sustained collaboration among local government units, law enforcement agencies, barangay officials, partner agencies, stakeholders, and community members in preventing the proliferation of illegal drugs and promoting safer and more resilient communities.

With the latest declaration, 679 out of the 908 drug-affected barangays in the province of Camarines Sur have now been declared drug-cleared, leaving 229 barangays still classified as drug-affected.

Despite this progress, the campaign against illegal drugs remains ongoing. Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining its presence on the ground and intensifying its efforts in partnership with local government units, national government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Anchored on the PNP Focused Agenda, PRO 5 will continue to strengthen law enforcement operations, support community-based interventions, and promote sustained cooperation with stakeholders toward the common goal of making communities safer and ultimately achieving a drug-cleared Bicol Region.

The declaration of these 11 barangays is not the end of the journey, but a testament to what can be achieved through collective action, sustained commitment, and strong community partnership.
