The SNSU-Del Carmen Extension Office, led by Mr. Aljon C. Judilla, (Campus Extension Coordinator) successfully held a Program Extension Orientation meeting with Extension Coordinators from various programs and Program Chairs on November 12, 2025, at the Learning Resource Center.

The productive session focused on reviewing past extension projects, identifying community priorities, and crafting a comprehensive Extension Plan and calendar of activities for the coming year.

Together, we continue to advance responsive, inclusive, and impactful extension programs that empower communities and promote sustainable development. đź’š

Look 👀: The Extension Office of SNSU–Del Carmen Campus successfully conducted a Training on Digital Literacy on October 17, 2025, held at Espoir School of Life Inc.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in utilizing digital tools for education, communication, and productivity. It was participated in by the elementary and high school teachers of Espoir School of Life Inc., who actively engaged in the sessions and hands-on activities.

The training was led by Ms. Jerlyn Rabaca , Executive Director, Mr. Gerald Sanoy Program Manager , and coordinated with the Extension Campus Coordinator, Mr. Aljon C. Judilla. Serving as the resource speaker was Mr. Elwin S. Argana, the Campus Research Coordinator of SNSU–Del Carmen, whose insightful lecture and interactive discussions deepened the participants’ understanding of digital literacy and its importance in today’s technology-driven world.

The event was supported by Mr. Nicolas Gontard, Founder of Espoir School of Life Inc., Dr. Rowena A. Plando, SNSU President, Dr. Romy Jun A. Sunico, VP- RIE and Dr. Joey G. Escauso, Campus Director whose commitment to educational development greatly contributed to the success of the activity. This initiative underscores the Extension Office’s continuous effort to promote digital empowerment and community growth through relevant and impactful training programs.

Look 👀: Meeting with the Program Chair of BAT and the Laboratory Technician in Preparation for the Upcoming Extension Activities of SNSU–Del Carmen Campus

On October 29, 2025, the Extension Office of the Del Carmen Campus, together with Campus Extension Coordinator Mr. Aljon C. Judilla, conducted an ocular inspection and meeting with Sir Ian Kim Paler, Program Chair of the Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT), and Engr. Van Ortez, the Laboratory Technician, to discuss preparations for the upcoming extension activities of Surigao del Norte State University – Del Carmen Campus (SNSU–DC).

The meeting formed part of the “Storya Ta!” initiative — a platform designed to understand and strengthen the extension programs of each department. Through Storya Ta!, faculty and staff from various programs share insights, plans, and best practices to enhance the university’s extension services and ensure their responsiveness to community needs.

During the discussion, Sir Ian Kim Paler presented the proposed extension plans of the BAT Program, emphasizing the importance of applying technical knowledge and skills through community-based activities and training. Meanwhile, Engr. Van Ortez provided updates on laboratory readiness, including the availability of tools, equipment, and materials necessary for technical demonstrations.
The team also recognized the importance of collaboration among departments and the Extension Office to ensure the successful implementation of the planned activities. The active participation of the BAT Program through Storya Ta! underscores the shared commitment of SNSU–Del Carmen Campus to promoting community engagement, innovation, and sustainable development through meaningful extension initiatives.

On August 29, 2025, the Espoir School of Life, headed by Mr. Gerald Sanoy, visited Surigao del Norte State University – Del Carmen Campus to formalize discussions for a strategic partnership focused on educational and technological advancement.

The primary purpose of the visit was to explore collaborative initiatives, particularly in Digital Literacy and the development of an E-Library program. These initiatives aim to enhance students’ access to digital resources, strengthen research capabilities, and promote modern learning tools for both faculty and students.

The meeting was actively participated in by key campus officials: Mr. Kier L. Ecle, Director for Academics and Technology; Mr. Elwin S. Argana, Research Coordinator; Mr. Aljon C. Judilla, Extension Coordinator; and Ms. Jovelyn P. De Gracia, University Librarian. Their presence demonstrated the university’s strong commitment to fostering innovation and community partnerships that support lifelong learning.

Both parties expressed optimism about the collaboration, envisioning projects that will empower learners with essential digital skills and provide access to valuable e-learning resources.
