Malacañang has declared March 16, 2026, a special non-working day in Davao City in celebration of Araw ng Pasasalamat, part of the 89th Araw ng Dabaw festivities.

Under Proclamation No. 1174, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Monday, March 16, is set aside to allow Dabawenyos to participate fully in activities marking the city’s founding anniversary.

The proclamation recognizes the significance of Araw ng Dabaw in honoring the city’s history, cultural heritage, and the unity of its people. Araw ng Pasasalamat, observed every March 16, is one of the highlights of the month-long celebration.

Local government officials encouraged residents to take part in the commemorative events and reflect on this year’s theme, “Dabawenyo Ko: Nilambo. Nagkahiusa.”

The 89th Araw ng Dabaw celebration features various cultural presentations, civic activities, and community gatherings aimed at showcasing Davao City’s progress and solidarity.

March 16 will be observed as a special non-working holiday within Davao City.
