INTERIM ACEDD, FFEDIS, NEGOTIATD PROCUREMENT- SAGIP SAKA (NPSS) AND CSO ORIENTATION

The activity is being held at the PAGRO Hall, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, aimed at providing technical knowledge and strengthening coordination among stakeholders.

The program is managed by Mr. Jasper L. Salcedo, serving as the Emcee, Documentor, and Secretariat. The discussions are facilitated by resource persons namely Ms. Ligaya B. Seroy, CPA, MBA, ACC III / Alternate Focal for Sagip Saka and ACEDD, Ms. Maria Krista Fe M. Tong, Business Development Officer and Ms. Jehoney Belle R. Sanchez, Project Assistant I.

The Provincial Agriculturist Office, headed by Acting Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Christopher S. Dalisay, ABE, served as the host, with the support of Ms. Alphabet M. Gulanes, R.Agr, Assistant Provincial Agriculturist, Ms. Marivic B. Bruno, R.Agr. F2C2 Focal, and Mr. John Brice B. Ferrer, F2C2 Alternate Focal of Provincial Agriculturist.

The orientation is attended by key representatives from various Municipal Agriculture Offices and Farmers and Fisherfolk Cooperatives/Enterprises (FFCEs).

Some key personnel present during the activity are Ms. Reah Solaiman from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Sto. Tomas; Mr. Pedro V. Tumbaga and Ms. Estela B. Portugaliza of New Loon Farmers Association; Mr. Romeo Cagalawan and Mr. Curren S. Salubre of Panabo Irrigators Association; Ms. Sonia T. Dueñas and Mr. Camilo P. Dungog of Cebulano Mangalkal / Compostela Pilar Irrigators Association; Ms. Emmy B. Cabel, Ms. Joy A. Sayago, Ms. Ruwena Villabito, and Mr. Elvin Samson of New Corella Farmers Irrigators Association; Ms. Helen Alcomendras and Ms. Michelle Melendres of Caganguhan Women's Association; Ms. Treceline Busayong of Quezon Southern Davao Nitgara Irrigators Association; and Ms. Michelle A. Baluro of New Bantayan Organic Vegetable Farmers Association.

The participation of all attendees ensures the success of the initiative, which seeks to improve implementation systems and deliver better services to the agriculture sector.

The DA- Interim ACEDD personally visited for the two associations which are the Upper Mapula Farmers (UMLA) in Paquibato District and the Davao City Chocolate Processors Association, Inc.(DCCPAI) in Cadalian, Baguio District, Davao city to sustain the division's initiatives for this year.

The activity focused on verifying CSO accreditation and FFEDIS registration, as well as strengthening its organization’s development. The division’s mission, focus, goals, roles, and responsibilities were also introduced and discussed.

An in-depth discussion was conducted regarding the associations future plans and readiness to transition into cooperative. Both associations expressed their strong commitment to organizational strengthening by enhancing their internal structures and improving production processes as parth pf their growth strategy.

As part of is commitment to inclusive agriculrural development, the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) program conducted Value-Adding Training on Cardava Banana Production (Banana chips) and Training on Cardava Banana and Abaca Production and Management at Sitio Paraiso, Brgy. Tapak, Paquibato District, Davao City, and invited the Interim ACEDD XI to serve as a resource spreaker on CSO accreditation.

The trainings eqquiped farmers' groups with practical skills to improve production and stregthen their organization as an important step toward qualifying for CSO accreditation. Participants were also provided with essential information on accreditation processes and organizational strengthening initiatives.

The initiative reflects a continued commitment to empowering grassroots organizations and expanding sustainable development opportunities.

Continuing its commitment to strengthen farmer cooperatives and associations (FCA), the DA Interim ACEDD XI conducted another orientation on CSO accreditation, FFEDIS registration, and the F2C2 program for the Durian Industry Association of Davao City and Pangyan Coconut Farmers Association.

The activity also introduces the Interim ACEDD framework, along with discussions on CSO accreditation, FFEDIS registration, and the F2C2 program to ensure that the FCAs fully understand each component.

Additionally, an initial assessment to determine the associations' interest and readiness to transition into cooperatives, further enhancing their capacity and sustainability.
