The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Davao Region, through the City Science and Technology Office (CSTO), in partnership with the Philippine Science High School โ Davao Region Campus (PSHS-DRC), conducted the third leg of Pakiglambigit 2026: "Small Bots, Big Impact!" through the ๐ฃ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป on September 26, 2026, at the Division ALS Training Center, Palma Gil St., Elpidio Quirino Ave., Davao City.
Building on the knowledge and skills gained from their previous sessions in science, technology, electronics, programming and robotics, participating Junior High School and Senior High School students transformed their learning into project concepts and proposed innovations. The session provided them with a platform to present their ideas, identify community concerns, and demonstrate how their proposed solutions could address actual needs in their respective communities.
The pitching activity featured two categories, bringing together student teams from Bernardo D. Carpio National High School, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, Davao City National High School, Doรฑa Carmen Denia National High School, Mintal Comprehensive Standalone Senior High School, and Carlos P. Garcia Standalone Senior High School.
During the session, the student teams took center stage as they presented their respective project proposals before a selected panel of judges. Their proposals focused on pressing concerns within their chosen communities, including flood control, proper waste segregation, fire alarm systems, mosquito repellents, and various school-related problems. Through these presentations, the students demonstrated how science, technology, and innovation can be applied to develop practical solutions to challenges they encounter in their everyday surroundings.
The pitching activity also allowed the students to communicate the purpose, relevance, and potential impact of their proposed innovations while receiving feedback from the panel of judges. More than presenting concepts, the participants showcased their creativity, critical thinking, and commitment to developing solutions that respond to the needs of their schools and communities.
The journey continues as Pakiglambigit 2026: "Small Bots, Big Impact!" moves to its next phase, the Simulation and Troubleshooting Clinic on October 10, 2026, where participants will further develop, test, and refine their proposed innovations.
