Under the leadership of Hon. Pacito D. Caรฑete Jr., Punong Barangay, Barangay Ma-a CARES remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the community and extending immediate assistance to neighboring barangays in times of emergencies and disasters.

On July 24, 2026, a team of Water Safety Technicians, headed by Edgar R. Rosauro, BDRRMC Administrative Assistant, responded to the flooding incident in Barangay Talomo Proper.

The team conducted rescue and evacuation operations, successfully assisting and extracting trapped individuals from Pinatubo Street, Kanlaon Street, Arayat Street, and Mayon Street, and bringing them to safer areas.

The operation was carried out in close coordination with the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), along with other rescue groups and partner agencies.

Due to continuous heavy rainfall, water has accumulated along the road from University of Mindanao โ€“ Ma-a Gate to DBP Village, resulting in heavy traffic in the area.

โš ๏ธ Motorists, particularly those using motorcycles and other light or low-clearance vehicles, are strongly encouraged to avoid this route and take alternative roads whenever possible.

BDRRMC Ma-a is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with concerned agencies to ensure public safety. Further updates will be posted as conditions develop.
