A class picture is a special way to freeze a moment in time. It shows a group of students growing and learning together. It signifies unity and friendship, proving that even though everyone is different, they are all part of the same team working toward the same goal. More than just classmates, they are a family making memories that will last a lifetime.

The class is also deeply grateful to their dedicated advisers and teachers who guide them every step of the way. Under the strong leadership of the School Head Ma'am Chonita F. Quijardo the entire school community provides the foundation for the students' success.

On March 10, 2026, Labo National High School vibrantly celebrated National Women's Month through an empowering symposium held at the school mini gym. Guided by the national theme, "WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society" and the sub-theme "Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!", the event aimed to honor the resilience of women and educate the community on gender-related rights. The symposium was well attended by a diverse group of parents and students, all eager to participate in this significant advocacy effort.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from the school community, setting a tone of inclusivity and respect. The highlight of the event was the presence of PCPL Geraldine Camance, from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of Police Station 7-Paquibato District, who served as the distinguished resource speaker.

During her comprehensive session, PCPL Camance discussed critical topics essential for the protection and empowerment of women and children:

-Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act): An in-depth look at legal protections against physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse.

-Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act/Bawal Bastos Law): Discussions on preventing gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces, online, and in educational institutions.

-Empowerment and Leadership: Reclaiming the "Babaylan" spiritโ€”emphasizing that women's leadership is a fundamental part of Filipino identity and essential for nation-building.

-Community Vigilance: The importance of reporting incidents to the WCPD and the role of the police as partners in ensuring a safe environment for all.

The success of this symposium was made possible through the visionary leadership of the school head, Chonita F. Quijardo, whose dedication to gender and development (GAD) initiatives continues to foster a supportive learning environment. This activity was also a success, thanks to the efforts of the teachers of Labo NHS, Jane V. Pernia, Arlyn Jean E. Sampuang, Racarla Marisa V. Barbon, Nympha S. Bagayo, Cristine A. Aclao, and Noe G. Otero.

The school expresses its profound gratitude to all stakeholdersโ€”including the local government units, the Philippine National Police, and the active Parent-Teacher Associationโ€”for their unwavering support and resources. Their collaboration ensured that the message of equality and empowerment reached every participant, reinforcing Labo National High School's commitment to building an inclusive "Bagong Pilipinas".

DAY 3 | Leadership Training and Encampment 2026

What an amazing journey! Over the past three days at Labo NHS, our students explored Leadership, DRRM, Barkada Kontra Droga, and Gender & Development, stepping out of their comfort zones and discovering their potential as future leaders.

We were inspired by the 89th Infantry (MAKATAO) Battalion: Charlie Company, who reminded us that true leadership is about action, educating others, and being a positive force in the community.

Sa Barkada Kontra Droga, we strengthened our commitment to say NO to drugs and YES to a brighter future.
Gender and Development sessions deepened our understanding of equality, respect, and inclusivity.
DRRM training taught us that preparedness saves lives.

A huge thank you to our Resource Speakers, Sponsors, Parents, Bahani, Volunteers and Faculty & Staff for supporting this journey.

To our Participants โ€“ Proud kaayo mi ninyo! Your energy, teamwork, and discipline showed your true potential. Do good and make your parents proud!

Leadership, service, and responsibility donโ€™t end here. Letโ€™s leave stronger, braver, and ready to inspire our communities!

Reflective Question:
"Asa ka mo-start aron mahimong mas maayo nga lider ug ehemplo sa imong komunidad?"

DAY 2 | Leadership/DRRM/Barkada Kontra Droga/Gender &
Development Training and Encampment

Day 2 of the Leadership Training and Encampment at Labo National High School was filled with energy, learning, and inspiration.

The day started with morning games led by Maโ€™am Jane V. Pernia, which energized the participants and encouraged teamwork, cooperation, and camaraderie among the students.

In the afternoon, the students were inspired and guided by the 89th Infantry (MAKATAO) Battalion: Charlie Company, which conducted a Massive Awareness Campaign. The discussion reminded everyone that true leadership means taking action, educating others, and being a positive force in our communities.

The session was led by:
โ€ข 2LT Emmanuel F. Carido (Infantry) P.A. โ€“ Executive Officer, Charlie Coy 89 IB
โ€ข 2LT Kenneth Sanchez (Infantry) P.A. โ€“ Platoon Leader, Charlie Coy 89 IB

We were also honored by the presence of our guests:
โ€ข 14 principals from Cluster 16
โ€ข Jose Ramil B. D**a, EdD โ€“ Public School District Supervisor (PSDS)

Our principal of Labo NHS, who, despite a busy schedule, gave at least a few minutes to join the second day of the activity.

The students actively engaged in the discussion, reflecting on their roles as leaders and their responsibility to positively impact their communities.

Thank you to our speakers and guests for sharing your time, knowledge, and experiences, and for inspiring our students to become proactive, responsible, and compassionate leaders.
