The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Tamugan hereby issues this official statement in relation to the recent matter involving the five (5) Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons from the Third District, wherein a formal complaint has been filed and an investigation has been initiated by the Ethics and Governance Committee concerning allegations of misuse of public funds.
In this regard, we respectfully clarify that the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Tamugan has no involvement, participation, or connection whatsoever with the aforementioned issue. Furthermore, our office strongly upholds the principles of transparency, accountability, integrity, and responsible governance in the discharge of our duties and in the proper management of public funds entrusted to our administration.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to serve the youth and the community with honesty, professionalism, and dedication, while fully respecting the ongoing investigation and the due process being undertaken by the appropriate authorities.
"Furthermore, as of March 31, 2026, please be informed that the audit suspensions, disallowances, and charges found in the audit of various transactions of this agency amount to P0.00, based on the Notice of Suspension (NS), Notice of Disallowance (ND), and Notice of Charge (NC) issued by the Commission on Audit (COA). This serves as proof of our compliance with proper financial management and lawful utilization of public funds entrusted to our office."
In light of this matter, we likewise appeal to the public to exercise prudence and responsibility in disseminating information, and to refrain from associating or implicating Barangay Tamugan in allegations or issues that are entirely unrelated to our organization.
