The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗢) 𝗣𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁, through Agricultural Technologists Lynbel Libunao and Keneth Paul A. Lofranco, conducted a Meeting and Orientation on CAgrO Programs for the newly formed Gumahan Mahayahay Farmers Association (GUMAFA) on August 11, 2026, at Purok 15, Gumahan, Brgy. Sumimao, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The orientation introduced the association to the various agricultural programs, services, and assistance available through CAgrO, helping members better understand opportunities that can support their farming activities and organizational development.

Through continued engagement with farmers’ organizations, CAgrO Paquibato strengthens its efforts to bring agricultural programs closer to communities and empower farmers toward more productive and sustainable livelihoods. 🌱👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗢) 𝗣𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁, through Agricultural Technologist Christopher C. Ramos, assisted farmers from Purok Napo and Purok Mangga during the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Mass Enrollment and Renewal on August 4, 2026, at Paquibato Proper, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The activity assisted farmers in processing applications, verifying requirements, and understanding their crop insurance benefits. In coordination with PCIC personnel, the initiative aimed to expand farmers’ insurance coverage and provide protection against potential agricultural losses.

The activity facilitated the processing of applications, verification of required documents, and orientation on insurance policy benefits to help farmers maximize their crop insurance coverage and strengthen their protection against agricultural and financial losses.

Through the collaborative efforts of CAgrO and PCIC, farmers were given greater access to insurance protection and support toward a more resilient agricultural livelihood. 🌾🛡️

The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗢) 𝗧𝘂𝗴𝗯𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 participated in the Araw ng Barangay Caravan on August 20, 2026, in Barangay Los Amigos, bringing agricultural services and assistance closer to residents as part of the community’s 59th Araw ng Barangay celebration.

As part of the caravan, CAgrO Tugbok distributed assorted vegetable seeds, fruit tree seedlings, fertilizers from the Seedbank and Research Division (SRD) Malagos, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to community members.

The initiative aimed to encourage households to establish backyard gardens and promote home-based food production, contributing to household food security and sustainable gardening practices.

Through activities like the Araw ng Barangay Caravan, CAgrO Tugbok continues to bring agricultural assistance closer to communities and promote accessible, practical, and sustainable food production across Davao City.

The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗢) 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗥𝗗) welcomed students from the Don Bosco Training Center for an educational tour on August 19, 2026, providing them with an opportunity to learn about agricultural research, seed and planting material production, and the division’s various programs and facilities.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the activities and initiatives of SRD and gained a closer look at how agricultural research and technology contribute to sustainable food production and development. The educational tour also encouraged the students to appreciate the importance of agriculture and the role of research in addressing challenges faced by farmers and communities.

As part of the caravan, CAgrO Tugbok distributed assorted vegetable seeds, fruit tree seedlings, fertilizers from the Seedbank and Research Division (SRD) Malagos, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to residents. The initiative aimed to encourage households to establish and maintain backyard gardens as a practical way to support food production and household food security.

Through its participation, CAgrO Tugbok continues to promote accessible agricultural services and sustainable backyard gardening while bringing the City Government’s support closer to communities across Davao City.

CAgrO Agricultural Technologist Mary Joy Lariosa, together with CAgrO AgPobTal staff Ella May Escollar, distributed assorted vegetable seeds to members of the barangay community and provided basic information on proper planting and simple urban gardening practices.

The activity encouraged residents to make use of available spaces for vegetable production while promoting food security and sustainable gardening at the household level.

During the caravan, CAgrO personnel provided agricultural information and technical guidance on crop production, sustainable farming practices, and the various programs and services available to farmers through the City Agriculturist’s Office. The activity served as a one-stop venue where residents could access essential government services within their community.

Through its participation, CAgrO Paquibato reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers and rural communities by making agricultural assistance more accessible, strengthening community engagement, and contributing to the continued development of local agriculture.
