The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines โ€“ Ang Kabataang Organisado (AKO) Salaysay Chapter, represented by Jay Pasagui, Raiza Rose Sumahay, and Ermen Nantic, successfully participated in EDUK NATIN TO: State of the Youth Address (SOYA) 2026, held at Ateneo de Davao University on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

The event was organized by Rise for Education (R4E) Davao, in partnership with the SAMAHAN Department of Academic Affairs. It served as a platform for students and youth organizations to discuss pressing issues affecting the education sector, including budget cuts and concerns over the commercialization, colonial influence, and fascist tendencies in the country's education system.

Through meaningful dialogue and collective action, the gathering aimed to amplify the voices of the youth and strengthen the movement for accessible, quality, and democratic education for all.

We know that this year's celebration wasn't perfectโ€”and that's okay. Every event has its own challenges. But despite all the pressure, sleepless nights, last-minute changes, and unexpected problems, you still showed up and gave your best for our barangay.

From the sports events, religious activities, Mutya ng Salaysay 2026, and all the other programs, we saw the effort and dedication you poured into making this celebration happen. We know that many things happen behind the scenes that most people don't get to see, but we want you to know that your hard work did not go unnoticed.
