1003rd Infantry Brigade Marks 18 Years of Dedicated Service
Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City – The 1003rd Infantry (RAPTOR) Brigade commemorated its 18th Founding Anniversary on 28 March 2026 at Headquarters, 1003rd Infantry Brigade, Camp Mariano R. Marcos, Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City, with the theme “18 Years of Dedicated Service: Accomplishing the Mission, Securing Lasting Peace.” The celebration highlighted the Brigade’s enduring commitment to safeguarding peace and protecting the Filipino people.
The commemoration commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Heroes Memorial to honor the sacrifices of fallen soldiers who gave their lives in service to the nation. The ceremony was attended by Hon. Pedrito C. Angco, Barangay Captain of Calinan, who joined Brigade leadership and personnel in paying tribute to the heroes whose courage and patriotism continue to inspire the unit’s mission.
The activity was followed by the Blessing of Facilities and Holy Mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Pepe Retorca, Parish Priest of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Calinan, invoking prayers for guidance, protection, and continued success of the Brigade in fulfilling its mandate.
The anniversary celebration was graced by the distinguished presence of the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Major General Alvin V. Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (AGILA) Division. In his address, he lauded the Raptor Brigade for its exemplary contributions to the preservation of peace and security in Southern Mindanao.
One of the highlights of the program was an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) featuring the history and milestones of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade. The presentation showcased the unit’s operational achievements and its role in transforming previously conflict-affected communities into areas where peace, stability, and development continue to thrive through sustained military operations and strong partnerships with local government units, national government agencies, and community stakeholders.
The celebration also featured the awarding of outstanding personnel, recognizing soldiers and auxiliaries whose professionalism, dedication, and exemplary performance significantly contributed to the success of the Brigade’s mission. The awarding ceremony was led by MGEN ALVIN V LUZON PA, Commander of 10th Infantry Division, assisted by BGEN CHRISTOPHER M DIAZ, Brigade Commander, and COL RONALDO G VALDEZ, Deputy Brigade Commander.
In addition, several personnel from the Brigade were awarded the Military Merit Medal and Military Commendation Medal in recognition of their valuable contributions in the fields of logistics support, TRIAD operations, and administrative services, which significantly contributed to the trailblazing milestones and operational accomplishments of the Brigade.
The 18th Founding Anniversary served as a meaningful occasion for the Brigade to reflect on nearly two decades of dedicated service while honoring both past and present soldiers whose commitment has shaped the unit’s proud legacy. The event also paid tribute to the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
In his remarks, BGEN DIAZ emphasized that as the unit moves forward, it will remain steadfast in sustaining peace and stability across its area of responsibility by dismantling remaining insurgent influence, protecting communities and vital infrastructure, safeguarding national security, and supporting the government’s efforts toward inclusive peace and development.
“Anchored in faith in God, unity within Team Raptor, and strong collaboration with partner agencies and communities, the Brigade continues its mission of building safe, stable, and resilient communities,” BGEN DIAZ said.
True to its enduring commitment to the people it serves, the Brigade reaffirmed its guiding principle and battle cry, he added.
“1003rd Brigade shall continue to be the community’s protector of peace, catalyst for positive transformation, and your family in the armed profession.”
