Responding with Power, Serving with Heart: Meet BDRRMC’s Newest Shield-Class “SALVO”! 🚨🚨

The Graduation Rites of BDRRMC Crossing Bayabas Volunteer Responder Batch 4-2026, Class “SALVO”.

Last June 14, 2026, marks a proud milestone for our community. The 2 brave men and 4 women officially completed their rigorous emergency training. Celebration was held at the 3rd-floor Function Hall of Barangay Crossing Bayabas.
Today, they stand ready to serve our neighborhood with deep dedication, competence, and courage. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

A “salvo” means a powerful, simultaneous action where a team moves together as one. For Class SALVO, this name represents their teamwork, moving quickly and effectively the exact moment a call for help comes. It symbolizes their passion, resilience, and commitment to keeping our community safe during disasters. 🫡🫡

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported this training program:

We gave thanks to our Guest Speaker, Sir Ronald Marante Jr. (APO-45) from the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, for delivering an inspiring message to our graduates and BDRRMC members.

We also gave thanks to our Barangay Captain, Hon. Herman Catague, and BDRRMC Chairman, Kagawad Solomon Ching, for their constant support of our emergency preparedness programs.

Thanks to all proud parents who supported their children in choosing this volunteer work, and to the BDRRMC responders who helped set up the graduation ceremony.

Lastly, a big thanks to our BDRRMC Training Team, Instructors who generously volunteered their time, skills, and effort to teach our new graduated responders the essential skills to equip them in times of emergency response, we aim to shape passionate individuals into highly competent volunteer emergency responders. This training succeeds entirely because of your unwavering support, Ma’am and Sir.

TOP 20 PERFORMING BARANGAY DRRMC AWARD | 7/1/26

​Huge congratulations to the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) of Crossing Bayabas! Out of 182 barangays in Davao City, our team has officially been recognized as one of the Top 20 Performing BDRRMCs this year for the 2nd consecutive time!

​This prestigious recognition was awarded yesterday, July 1, 2026, in line with the kickoff of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026.

​This milestone is a testament to the hard work, sleepless nights, and unwavering dedication of our local leaders under the leadership of our Punong Barangay; Hon. Herman Catague, BDRRMC Chairman; Hon. Solomon Ching & BDRRMC Operation Head; Junar Tolentino, to the responders, and volunteers who ensure that Crossing Bayabas remains safe, prepared, and resilient. The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office officially kicks off the observance of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month with the theme, "Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas."

This observance highlights the importance of preparedness, collaboration, and community participation in reducing disaster risks. Through a series of capacity-building activities, information campaigns, drills, and public engagement initiatives, CDRRMO continues to strengthen the resilience of every barangay and every Dabawenyo.

Together, let us foster a culture of preparedness and resilience as we work toward a safer, more responsive, and disaster-ready Davao City.

Due to the recent earthquake experienced in Davao City, classes at all levels, both public and private institutions, and work in all local and national government offices within the city are hereby suspended effective immediately, today, June 8, 2026.

In order to give way to clearing operations and ensure the safety and welfare of individuals affected by flooding incidents in the city due to heavy rainfall brought by Easterlies and ITCZ on Monday evening, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔:

1. Face-to-face classes and school activities in ALL LEVELS in all public and private educational institutions in the city are hereby suspended;

2. Work in all national and local government offices, including government-owned and controlled corporations in Davao City, is suspended, EXCEPT for offices performing safety and security, health, social services and disaster and emergency response services;

3. Private offices and establishments are given the discretion to suspend work but are encouraged to do so for the welfare and safety of their employees.
