The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao de Oro Field Office facilitated the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Service Contracting Industry Tripartite Council (ITC) on June 10, 2026, held at Denโ€™s Cafรฉ & Resto Bar, Bonifacio Street, Davao City.

The meeting was attended by 35 participants representing the government, management, and labor sectors, reflecting strong tripartite cooperation in addressing issues and strengthening policies in the service contracting industry. It was presided over by Mr. Dondi Solis, Vice-Chair for the management sector, who facilitated the discussion. Vice Chair for the labor sector Ms. Josefina Lim also actively participated and gave voice to the concerns and welfare of workers. The DOLE Davao de Oro Provincial Director Neil Allan R. Baban was also present and provided guidance, emphasizing the agencyโ€™s continued commitment to protect and promote the welfare of workers in the service contracting sector.

During the meeting, the council discussed key concerns and updates affecting service contracting arrangements, with particular emphasis on the strengthening and refinement of existing resolutions to better address the recurring issues encountered by service providers and security agencies. The discussions focused on improving compliance with labor standards, enhancing accountability measures, and ensure that all workers under service contracting are properly protected in accordance with existing labor laws and regulations.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the agreement to further strengthen the implementation of the Drug-Free Workplace policy among service providers and security agencies. The council stressed the importance of strict compliance with this policy to maintain discipline, safety, and productivity in the workplace. In addition, the council also discussed the need to support and review resolutions that aim to improve compensation, promote fair wage practices, and enhance the overall working conditions of deployed personnel.

Overall, the meeting served as an important platform for open dialogue and cooperation among government, employers, and workers. It strengthened their shared commitment to continuously improve policies, address gaps in implementation, and promote fair and proper labor practices.

DAVAO CITY โ€” For 116 jobseekers, the celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day became a day of new beginnings as they were successfully hired on the spot (HOTS) during the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Trabaho Agad Job Fair held at The Annex Event Center, SM City Davao.

Out of 920 jobseekers who attended the activity, 116 or 16.48% immediately secured local employment opportunities, bringing hope and a fresh start to many individuals and their families.

Anchored on the vision of DOLE Secretary Francisco N. Tolentino to further expand employment opportunities for Filipinos, DOLE Regional Office XI successfully gathered 30 local employers and two (2) overseas employers, offering a total of 2,300 job vacancies for jobseekers across the region.

In his video message, Secretary Tolentino underscored the sacrifices and heroism of those who fought for the countryโ€™s freedom and expressed his hope that initiatives such as the Trabaho Agad Job Fair would continue to uplift the lives of Filipino workers through meaningful and decent employment.

The Department organized the โ€˜Trabaho Agad Job Fair,โ€™ where I sincerely hope that all our jobseekers will be able to find employment through this service. To our employers who joined and participated in todayโ€™s job fair, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. May we continue to help our fellow Filipinos secure jobs and return home with good news for their families).โ€
