MAHIGIT 300 LGUs AT MGA KATUWANG, PINARANGALAN SA REGIONAL SANDUGO AWARDS 2026

Mahigit 300 na Local Government Units (LGUs) at mga katuwang na institusyon ang tumanggap ng pagkilala sa Regional Sandugo Awards 2026 na ginanap noong Hulyo 30 sa Davao City bilang pagkilala sa kanilang mahalagang ambag sa pagsulong ng boluntaryong pagdodonate ng dugo sa Davao Region.

Sa temang "Dugo ng Bayan, Dangal ng Sambayanan," kinilala ng DOH Davao Center for Health Development ang mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga partner organization na nagpakita ng natatanging dedikasyon sa pagtataguyod ng boluntaryong blood donation at sa pagpapatibay ng Regional Voluntary Blood Services Program (RVBSP).

Iginawad ang mga parangal sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga organisasyong nagpakita ng pambihirang dedikasyon sa pagsulong sa programa sa pamamagitan ng apat na pangunahing kategorya ng parangal: Category 1 Award, Category 2 Award, Super Achievers Award, at Category 4 Award para sa mga non-political organizations.

Isa sa mga tampok ng pagdiriwang ang paggawad ng Super Achievers Award, ang pinakamataas na pagkilala sa mga lokal na pamahalaang nagpakita ng natatanging pagganap sa pagtataguyod ng boluntaryong pagdodonate ng dugo. Sa taong ito, kinilala ang Banaybanay, Davao Oriental bilang Super Achiever sa kategoryang munisipalidad, kasama ang 34 na barangay mula sa Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, at Davao de Oro na nagpamalas ng huwarang suporta sa pagpapanatili ng sapat at ligtas na suplay ng dugo sa rehiyon.

Nagbigay rin ng pagkilala ang DOH Davao sa 10 non-political organizations at 10 blood service facilities bilang pagpapahalaga sa kanilang patuloy na pakikipagtulungan sa pagpapalakas ng voluntary blood donation program at pagtiyak ng ligtas at sapat na suplay ng dugo para sa mga pasyenteng nangangailangan.

Patuloy na kinikilala ng DOH Davao ang mahalagang papel ng mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga katuwang na organisasyon sa pagsulong ng boluntaryong pagdodonate ng dugo at sa pagpapanatili ng sapat at ligtas na suplay ng dugo sa rehiyon.

68 BAGS OF BLOOD. 68 GIFTS OF LIFE.

Yesterday, July 12, 2026, the Rotary Club of South Davao proudly celebrates the success of our Blood Donation Drive - “Your Blood. Their Tomorrow.”

Through the generosity of our donors and the collective effort of our partners, we successfully collected 68 bags of blood. Each bag represents more than a donation, it represents hope, compassion, and another chance at life.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Stella Maris Academy of Davao, Stella Maris Academy of Davao PTA, Department of Health – Davao Center for Health Development, Association of Computer Businesses in Mindanao (ACBM), and the Bureau of Fire Protection for standing with us in this life-saving mission.

THE SUBNATIONAL Blood Center for Mindanao (SNBCM) urged the public to participate in blood-letting in observance of World Blood Donor Day.

During the iSpeak media forum on Thursday, June 25, at the Sanggunian Panglungsod, SNBCM donor recruitment officer Sachiko Jaudian emphasized that maintaining an adequate blood supply relies on the voluntary participation of the public, ensuring a stable blood inventory for patients in need.

“Eligible Davaoeños are encouraged to donate blood or participate in bloodletting activities, as doing so can save lives and help extend a person’s life,” Jaudian said.

The SNBCM is located along J.P. Laurel Avenue, across Gaisano Mall Bajada in Davao City. It operates 24/7 to accommodate both patients and blood donors. Individuals who wish to donate blood are required to present a valid ID.

Nationwide, there are two subnational blood centers — one in Mindanao, located in Davao City, and one in the Visayas, located in Cebu.

Jaudian explained that patients require different blood components depending on their medical condition. She noted that blood service facilities assess blood compatibility between donors and patients and conduct health assessments before donation.

She added that patients may obtain blood either through donors or from available blood inventories in health facilities. However, blood donors who participate in community blood donation activities are not guaranteed 100 percent replacement of blood units, as collected blood has a limited shelf life and eventually expires.

Jaudian also said that the blood center continues to maintain a stable blood inventory through the support of repeat donors and regular bloodletting activities, helping ensure an adequate blood supply for patients who need transfusions.
