DAVAO CITY โ€” The second tranche of the minimum wage increase for private sector workers in the Davao Region takes effect on September 1, 2026, pursuant to Wage Order No. RB XI-24. The daily minimum wage for workers in the agriculture sector will increase from Php515.00 to Php525.00, while the minimum wage for workers in the non-agriculture sector will rise from Php525.00 to Php540.00.

The first tranche of the wage increase took effect on March 13, 2026.

Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino constantly reminds employers to comply with the mandated wage adjustments, emphasizing the Departmentโ€™s commitment to ensuring that workers receive the wages due to them under existing labor laws and regulations.

Department of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE XI) Regional Director and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board XI (RTWPB XI) Chairperson Atty. Dax B. Villaruel likewise called on employers in the region to faithfully implement the new wage rates.

โ€œEmployers are encouraged to implement the mandated wage adjustments as a concrete expression of respect for workersโ€™ rights and recognition of their valuable contributions to the enterprise. Compliance with fair labor standards not only promotes the welfare of workers but also helps sustain industrial peace, productivity, and a healthy working environment,โ€ Villaruel said.

Compliance with the prescribed minimum wage is part of the regular labor inspection agenda of DOLE. Labor inspectors will verify establishmentsโ€™ compliance with the wage order during routine inspections. Previous inspection records show that payment of the prescribed minimum wage has consistently ranked among the top areas of non-compliance in recent years.

DOLE XI also reminds the public that Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBEs) with valid Certificates of Authority issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are not covered by the minimum wage law pursuant to Republic Act No. 9178, or the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises Act of 2002.

MATI CITY, DAVAO ORIENTAL โ€“ In line with the directives of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to intensify efforts in promoting compliance with labor laws and occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, particularly in priority and high-risk sectors such as the construction industry, the DOLE Davao Oriental Field Office, in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Davao Oriental Districts, successfully conducted a Contractorsโ€™ Forum, on August 27, 2026, at the DPWH Davao Oriental 2nd District Engineering Office, Barangay Matiao, Mati City.

As part of the Departmentโ€™s High Impact, High Visibility programs, DOLE Davao Oriental holds a Contractorsโ€™ Forum in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), providing an avenue for contractors to better understand their responsibilities on labor standards, occupational safety and health, social protection, and workersโ€™ welfare.

The forum underscores the shared commitment of DOLE and DPWH to promote voluntary labor compliance in the construction sector and ensure that workersโ€™ rights and welfare remain integral to the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The activity is further strengthened through the participation of DOLEโ€™s partner agenciesโ€”the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Employeesโ€™ Compensation Commission (ECC), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF/Pag-IBIG Fund)โ€”bringing together complementary government services and expertise for a more comprehensive labor and employment advocacy.
