ππππππππ: In a significant boost to the operational capabilities of the Philippine Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Station Davao received a new disaster response vehicle from the Local Government Unit of Davao City on February 13, 2025. The newly donated vehicle, an Isuzu D-Max 4x4 Pick-Up Truck, will be a vital asset for enhancing Search and Rescue and Disaster Response Operations in the city.
This notable contribution from the City Government of Davao highlights good rapport and collaboration with CGS Davao marking a new chapter in enhancing disaster response efforts. With this new vehicle, CGS Davao is set to significantly improve its capacity to respond to emergencies, conduct search and rescue missions, and provide assistance during natural disasters within its area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, four (4) units of Portable Generator Sets and two (2) units of Portable Tower Lights were also turned over to the said Station from the City Government of Davao which were distributed to the respective Coast Guard Sub-Stations in the city to maximize its operational readiness in performing its functions especially during disaster and emergency response operations.
The newly acquired land mobility and generator sets align with the PCGβs mission to ensure the culture of safety and security in the maritime and coastal communities in the city particularly in times of crisis. The partnership between the City Government of Davao and Coast Guard Station Davao underscores its commitment towards a more proactive and disaster-resilient community.
