On its 31st Regular Session, the 21st City Council passed and approved on Third and Final Reading, ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ. ๐๐๐๐-๐๐, ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐, โAn Ordinance authorizing the City Mayor to enter into and sign, for and on behalf of the City of Davao, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be entered into by and between the City of Davao and the Institute of Dental Medicine Davao (IDMD) for the Implementation of the Yakap Dental Program Partnershipโ.
The Body recognized a distinguished traditional Chinese medicine delegation for a meaningful initiative that further strengthened the bonds of friendship between the Republic of the Philippines and the Peopleโs Republic of China, by providing free traditional Chinese medicine consultation and treatment, including acupuncture, among others, thus, Resolution No. 01556-26, Series of 2026, โCommending Her Excellency Consul-General Zhao Xiuzhen of the Consulate General of The Peopleโs Republic of China for facilitating the visit of the Chinese Medical Delegation from Fujian Province and for the Free Traditional Chinese Medicine Consultations for Local Communities in the Cityโ, was adopted under Privileged Motion sponsored by Councilor Trisha Ann J. Villafuerte.
Meanwhile, Councilor LโDalodo-Ortiz took the floor to expound on the much-anticipated Kadayawan Festival 2026, anchored on this year's resonant theme, โ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ ๐๐ฏ๐ฆ, ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐บ๐ข๐ธ๐ข๐ฏโ, reminding her fellow Dabawenyos that the City's true greatness lies not in uniformity but in its rich tapestry of cultures, a diversity that stands as its greatest asset. Speaking in her dual capacity as Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism and Beautification and as a member of the Kadayawan Executive Committee, she extended a warm and spirited call to both locals and tourists alike, urging everyone to actively participate in the festival's vibrant lineup of activities, with particular emphasis on the much-anticipated Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2026, scheduled for its Cultural Presentation on August 9, 2026 and the prestigious Nation's Night on August 13, 2026. Seizing the moment with palpable pride, she then unveiled the esteemed roster of this year's candidates, the eleven (11) remarkable individuals, each representing one of the City's eleven Indigenous Tribes, embodying the very soul and heritage of Kadayawan.
