What was expected to be a simple celebration of retirement became a royal send-off filled with surprise, laughter, roses, and heartfelt gratitude as the school community honored Ma’am 𝓙𝓾𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓐. 𝓒𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓼𝓸𝓭 on September 11, 2026.

The celebration took an unexpected turn when the Faculty Officers unveiled a surprise prepared especially for the retiring teacher.

Blindfolded and unaware of what awaited her, Ma’am Judith was led into her moment in the spotlight. A crown was placed on her head, a cape draped over her shoulders, and suddenly, she was no longer simply a retiring teacher—she was the 𝓡𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓠𝓾𝓮𝓮𝓷👑

Then came the royal walk.

As Ma’am Judith made her way down the aisle, male teachers stood along her path, presenting her with red roses one by one. Each rose became a quiet symbol of appreciation for the years she spent teaching, serving, and becoming part of the Erico family. 🌹

But the surprises did not end at the roses.

Upon reaching the stage, Ma’am Judith was presented with a money bouquet, adding another joyful and memorable touch to the celebration.

She then took her place on the stage as the Retirement Queen, greeted by applause, smiles, and the warm presence of colleagues and loved ones who came to celebrate the milestone with her.

The royal tribute was only one part of a program filled with meaningful moments—from heartfelt messages from colleagues and family, a tribute video, words of gratitude, to the presentation of a plaque of appreciation.

Yet beyond the crown, the roses, the cape, and the money bouquet was something far more valuable: a community coming together to honor a career that mattered.

For years, Ma’am Judith gave her time, energy, and dedication to education. Now, as she turns the page to a new chapter, she carries with her the memories of the people she worked with, the learners she served, and the school she helped become part of her story.

She may be leaving the classroom, but she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to be remembered at Erico.

And for one unforgettable day, the teacher who spent years inspiring others became the center of a celebration fit for royalty.

From the classroom to the throne—Ma’am Judith truly earned her crown.

𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐒, 𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐖, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐆𝐋𝐎𝐖-𝐔𝐏𝐒: 𝐄𝐓𝐍𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐰𝐨-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐓
Teachers of Erico T. Nograles National High School (ETNNHS) participated in a two-day School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) aimed at enhancing instructional practices, strengthening professional competencies, and updating educators on current DepEd policies and programs.

On 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭, the program opened with a 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙡 session delivered by 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧 𝐎. 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧, 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐈, who encouraged teachers to remain passionate, resilient, and committed to their mission of shaping young minds. The inspirational message set a positive tone for the two-day training.

Following the opening session, 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐀. 𝐆𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐓-𝐈, discussed Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through the SOLO Taxonomy and shared strategies to develop learners' critical and analytical thinking skills. 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐋. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐓-𝐈, then presented the ILAW Framework, highlighting its application in effective classroom instruction. The day's sessions concluded with 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈𝐈, 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐘. 𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨's discussion on Republic Act 7836, which reinforced teachers' professional standards, responsibilities, and ethical practices.

On 𝘿𝙖𝙮 2, discussions focused on school performance, career development, and learner welfare. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐲 𝐂. 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐓-𝐈𝐈𝐈 presented the School Performance Indicators, while 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈𝐈, 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋. 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨 discussed the Expanded Career Progression System for Teachers and School Heads under DepEd Order No. 024, s. 2025, outlining opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐌. 𝐌𝐨𝐳𝐨, 𝐓-𝐈𝐈𝐈, who guided participants on the submission and receipt of application documents, and 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐀. 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐨, 𝐌𝐓-𝐈, who discussed DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, or the Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE), emphasizing the importance of safe, inclusive, and learner-centered schools.

The training also included department-based 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙡 (𝙇𝘼𝘾) 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, where teachers collaborated, shared best practices, reflected on instructional experiences, and developed strategies to address challenges within their respective subject areas.

The two-day INSET provided ETNNHS teachers with updated knowledge, practical strategies, and valuable opportunities for collaboration, equipping them to better respond to the needs of learners and contribute to continuous school improvement.
