The City Archives and Records Office (CARO) is pleased to welcome the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur โ€“ Records Management and Archives Division (RMAD) for a cross-visit and experiential learning activity focused on strengthening records management and archival practices last August 27, 2026.

The visit aims to provide valuable learning and knowledge-sharing opportunities in the areas of:

The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) students from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges โ€“ Marbel, Inc. benchmarking at the City Archives and Records Office facility on August 27, 2025.

The activity provided an overview of the practices of the Archives Preservation Division (APD) and the Archives Collection and Access Division (ACAD). Visitors were allowed to partially experience the process of preserving records. A tour of the Archival Storage Facility was completed, providing the Library Science students with a learning experience.

The City Archives and Records Office (CARO) of the City Government of Davao is pleased to welcome the City Government of Bislig, Surigao del Sur, for a benchmarking activity focused on digital transformation and paperless records management. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ป

Last August 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, personnel from the General Services Office, Records Division, City Engineering Office, and City Information Office โ€“ Information Technology Division of the City Government of Bislig visited CARO to learn from Davao Cityโ€™s experiences and best practices in implementing a modern Records Management System.

The City Archives and Records Office (CARO) successfully conducted the Seminar-Workshop on Basic Restoration of Damaged Records last August 12-13, 2026, bringing together records custodians and personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in the preservation and restoration of damaged government records.

Day 1 featured Ms. Noemi G. Cahongcoy, Archivist I, who provided participants with a comprehensive discussion on:

Through her engaging lectures and hands-on activities, participants learned the basic principles of record restoration, proper handling of damaged documents, and essential preparation techniques before conducting restoration.
