PNP ARRESTS THREE, UNCOVERS 10-GUN CACHE IN COTABATO

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested three men and recovered 10 unlicensed fi****ms after the PNP–Highway Patrol Group (HPG) intercepted three vehicles during an operation in Midsayap, Cotabato, on September 1, 2026.

The Special Operations Team of Regional Highway Patrol Unit 12, together with personnel of the Midsayap Municipal Police Station, was conducting patrol operations in Barangay Poblacion 5 in connection with anti-carnapping efforts when they encountered three vehicles that were illegally parked and causing obstruction.

The vehicles involved were a white Mitsubishi Montero, a gray Toyota Hilux, and a white Nissan Navara. While police personnel were approaching the vehicles for possible issuance of citation tickets, they allegedly spotted a pistol openly placed near the gear shift of one of the vehicles.

The discovery prompted police to ask for the pertinent documents for the firearm, but the driver allegedly failed to present the required documents. The three male occupants were subsequently apprehended, and the vehicles were secured for further investigation.

The arrested suspects were three male drivers aged 31, 28, and 22, all residents of Nabalawag, SGA-BARMM. The 31-year-old and 28-year-old suspects are residents of Barangay Kadigasan, while the 22-year-old suspect is from Barangay Kadingilan.

A total of 10 unlicensed fi****ms were recovered, consisting of four Cal. .45 C**t pistols, three Cal. .45 Armscor pistols, one Cal. .45 Infinity Fi****ms GPTX USA pistol, one Cal. .45 Re*****on pistol, one Elisco M16A1 rifle, and one Cal. 5.56 Re*****on Arms rifle, along with several magazines and assorted ammunition.

The three suspects are facing proceedings for alleged violations of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act. The recovered fi****ms, ammunition, magazines, and vehicles were secured for proper documentation, ballistic examination, verification, and appropriate legal proceedings.

PGEN Nartatez underscored the importance of vigilance during routine police activities, noting that encounters initially involving traffic violations can also uncover more serious threats to public safety.

“Our personnel must remain alert even during routine patrols because seemingly ordinary encounters can reveal serious threats. This operation demonstrates the importance of vigilance, sound judgment, and decisive police action in keeping our communities safe,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Ang pagkumpiska sa mga ilegal na baril ay mahalagang hakbang upang maiwasan ang krimen at maprotektahan ang ating mga komunidad. Mananagot sa batas ang sinumang lalabag sa mga patakaran sa pagmamay-ari at pagdadala ng armas,” he added.

The recovered fi****ms, ammunition, magazines, and three vehicles remain secured as authorities undertake the necessary documentation, ballistic examination, verification, and legal proceedings.

13 MOST WANTED PERSONS ARRESTED IN ONE-DAY NATIONWIDE OPERATIONS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested 13 wanted persons, including several regional most wanted individuals and one national most wanted person, in separate operations conducted across the country on September 2, 2026.

Among the significant arrests was a national most wanted person with a ₱50,000 reward who was apprehended in Upi, Maguindanao del Norte in connection with a murder case. The operation involved police units from Isabela, South Cotabato, and Maguindanao del Norte, together with CIDG and intelligence personnel. The arrested individual was placed under the custody of the CIDG Isabela PFU.

In Iligan City, police arrested a No.1 Most Wanted Person in the region in connection with four counts of r**e. In another operation in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental, a No. 2 Most Wanted Person was apprehended over four counts of statutory r**e. Meanwhile, a No. 3 Most Wanted Person was arrested in Asuncion, Davao del Norte for cases involving statutory r**e, r**e by sexual assault, and acts of lasciviousness.

In other operations, police arrested two No. 10 Most Wanted Persons in Malapatan, Sarangani Province, both in connection with murder cases. Another wanted individual listed among the region's No. 9 was apprehended in Pigcawayan, Cotabato for r**e, while a No. 10 most wanted person was arrested in Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat for violation of Republic Act No. 10883.

Other arrests were made in New Bataan, Davao de Oro, where a No.7 Most Wanted Person was apprehended for parricide; Pulilan, Bulacan, where a No.5 Most Wanted Person was arrested in connection with 30 counts of r**e by sexual assault in relation to Republic Act No. 7610; Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, where a No. 7 Most Wanted Person was arrested for statutory r**e; and Davao City, where a No. 3 Most Wanted Person was apprehended for syndicated estafa.

Another wanted person was arrested in Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte, in connection with cases involving qualified statutory r**e, acts of lasciviousness, sexual assault, and qualified r**e through sexual assault. All 13 arrests were carried out by virtue of warrants of arrest, with the arrested individuals turned over to the appropriate police units or custodial facilities for proper disposition.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the latest arrests show the importance of sustained intelligence work and coordination in locating wanted persons.

“Kapag may warrant, hindi ito dapat natatabunan ng panahon. We have to keep looking, keep coordinating, and make sure that every arrest is done properly and within the law. That is the kind of police work we want—focused, disciplined, and accountable,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations are part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which supports coordinated and intelligence-led police action while ensuring that the rights of all persons are respected and legal procedures are observed.

ANTI-DRUG OPS IN PAMPANGA, ILOILO, BATANGAS NET ₱18.5M SHABU, FIVE ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than 2.7 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱18.5 million in three separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted on September 2, 2026 in Pampanga, Iloilo City, and Batangas.

The largest recovery came from a drug interdiction operation at the UPS Cargo Area of the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, where joint law enforcement personnel intercepted an inbound parcel containing approximately 1,573 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱10.69 million.

In Iloilo City, an operation in Barangay Igcocong, La Paz resulted in the arrest of four suspects and the confiscation of approximately 152 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱1.03 million. In Batangas City, authorities likewise arrested a suspect and recovered approximately 1,000 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱6.8 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balagtas.

All recovered substances were placed under proper custody for examination and disposition, while appropriate cases will be filed against the arrested suspects in accordance with law. One individual identified in the Iloilo operation remains at large.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results reflect the importance of sustained coordination and timely action against the illegal drug trade.

“Hindi lang dami ng nakukuhang droga ang mahalaga. Ang mas importante, napipigilan natin itong makarating sa communities and, at the same time, we make sure every operation is done properly and within the law. That is the standard we expect from our police officers.”

The operations form part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through coordinated and intelligence-driven law enforcement efforts. GUNMAN IN BACOLOD FATAL ATTACK NABBED AFTER HOT PURSUIT

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested the alleged gunman in a fatal gun attack in Bacolod City on September 1, 2026, after police immediately pursued the suspect following the killing in Purok St. Vincent, Barangay Alijis.

The suspect, alias “Budoy,” 37, male, and a resident of Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, was apprehended by personnel of Police Station 7, Bacolod City Police Office, in Barangay Tangub following a sustained hot pursuit operation.

Initial investigation showed that the incident allegedly stemmed from a heated argument between the suspect and the victim. The suspect allegedly went to his residence, obtained an unidentified firearm, returned to the area, and fired several shots at the victim, resulting in the victim’s instantaneous death. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police Station 7 immediately deployed responding personnel to the area to verify the incident and conduct the initial investigation. A hot pursuit operation was launched to locate the fleeing gunman, while the station coordinated with the Bacolod Forensic Unit for crime scene processing and forensic examination.

The police search led to the suspect’s apprehension later that day at Gardenville Subdivision. He is currently under the custody of Police Station 7 for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.

“A violent act that takes a person’s life demands a firm and immediate law enforcement response. We will pursue every legitimate lead and make sure that those responsible are brought before the law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi dapat makatakas ang sinumang responsable sa pagkitil ng buhay. Sa tulong ng ating mga kababayan, mas mabilis nating natutukoy at nahuhuli ang mga gumagawa ng krimen,” he added.

PNP STATEMENT ON THE SANDIGANBAYAN ORDER FOR THE RELEASE OF SEC. MANUEL “MANNY” BONOAN

The Philippine National Police (PNP) acknowledges the Resolution issued by the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division on September 3, 2026, ordering the release of former Secretary Manuel “Manny” Bonoan from detention.

The order follows the Court’s earlier grant of the prosecution’s motion to file amended Informations, which excluded Sec. Bonoan as an accused in the cases. As a consequence, the Court recalled the Commitment Orders previously issued against him.

The PNP respects the authority of the Sandiganbayan to evaluate the evidence and circumstances presented before it and to issue appropriate rulings based on the merits of the cases.

In keeping with its mandate and respect for judicial processes, the PNP will faithfully comply with the Court’s order. Accordingly, the PNP Health Service General Hospital has been directed to facilitate the release of Sec. Bonoan, unless he is being detained for other lawful reason, as stated in the Court’s order.

The PNP remains committed to upholding the rule of law and faithfully carrying out lawful orders of the courts.

JUSTICE PREVAILS: PNP ARRESTS 7 MOST WANTED SUSPECTS IN SEXUAL CRIMES, VAWC CASES

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested seven Most Wanted Persons in separate operations across the country on September 2 and 3, 2026, involving serious sexual crimes and violations of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.

On September 3, police arrested four Most Wanted Persons in Isabela, Agusan del Sur, Valenzuela City, and Zamboanga del Sur. The arrests involved a No. 4 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level of Police Regional Office 2 (PRO 2) for violation of RA 9262, a bailable offense; a No. 6 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) for two counts of Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended; a No. 8 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) for seven counts of RA 9262 violations and service of sentence; and a No. 8 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) for R**e, with no bail recommended.

Separately, Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10) arrested three Regional-Level Most Wanted Persons on September 2: alias “Arlie,” 21, No. 9, for R**e in Valencia City; alias “Sidro,” 56, No. 2, for four counts of Statutory R**e in Jimenez; and alias “Van,” 29, No. 1, for four counts of R**e in Iligan City, all with no bail recommended.

The seven arrested persons are now under police custody for documentation and proper legal disposition following the implementation of warrants of arrest issued by the courts.

The arrests reinforce the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening efforts to locate wanted persons and bring them before the law.

“We will remain relentless in pursuing individuals wanted for serious crimes. Our police units will work within the law to locate them and ensure that they face the proper judicial process,” said PGEN Nartatez.

BIG-TIME CTG SETBACK: REBEL MEMBER SURRENDERS, GUN TURNED OVER IN BUKIDNON

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., secured another significant gain in its efforts to encourage members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to abandon armed activities, following the voluntary surrender of a CTG member in San Fernando, Bukidnon on August 26, 2026.

Personnel of the 1st Special Action Battalion (1SAB), Special Action Force (SAF), provided tactical support to the 1003rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, and other PNP units during the facilitation of the surrender of a.k.a. Math/Saudi, a Periodic Status Report (PSR)-listed CTG member under Squad 2, Platoon Pulang Baganing Yunit of the dismantled Guerilla Front 89, Sub-Regional Committee, in Barangay Halapitan.

Upon surrender, the former CTG member turned over one improvised 5.56mm revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition. He is now undergoing documentation and processing for possible enrollment in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which provides returning CTG members an opportunity to rebuild their lives through lawful means.

“This surrender demonstrates that peaceful and lawful options remain open to those who choose to leave armed conflict behind. We will sustain our efforts to facilitate their safe return while ensuring that public safety and the rule of law remain firmly upheld,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Mas mabuting piliin ang kapayapaan kaysa manatili sa armadong pakikibaka. Hinihikayat natin ang iba pang miyembro ng CTG na samantalahin ang pagkakataong magbalik-loob at magsimula muli bilang bahagi ng mapayapang pamayanan,” he added.

CTG WAR MATERIALS RECOVERED; GUNS, AMMUNITION AND RIFLE GRENADES UNEARTHED IN CAGAYAN

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has strengthened security efforts in Cagayan following the recovery of fi****ms, ammunition, rifle grenades, communication equipment, and other war materials believed to be owned by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) during an operation in the mountainous portion of Barangay Niug Norte, Sto. Niño, Cagayan on August 31, 2026.

Leading the operation was the 202nd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2, with support from the 4th Maneuver Platoon of the 1st Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Unit 2, Sto. Niño Police Station, and Bravo Company, 17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

Operating personnel discovered the cache at Sitio Talor, where the war materials had been buried underground and concealed inside a black plastic bag. Recovered were two homemade 12-gauge shotguns, 85 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 32 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, four rifle grenades with canisters, four rounds of 7.62x33mm carbine ammunition, three rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, and magazines for 5.56mm and 7.62mm fi****ms.

Also recovered were two handheld radios, a black skeleton bandolier, a brown tactical belt, an improvised engine-generator set, a Samsung 10,000mAh power bank, chargers and electrical wires, a tickler containing subversive documents, an earphone, batteries, and a cellphone charger.

The location of the cache was identified through information provided by a surrendered CTG member using the alias “Ronron.” The information was subjected to validation by operating personnel before the recovery operation was carried out.

The recovered rifle grenades and other explosive items will be turned over to the Regional EOD and Canine Unit 2 for appropriate handling, while the two homemade shotguns will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 2 for examination. The remaining items were brought to the 202nd MC, RMFB2 for final inventory and proper disposition.

The recovery highlights the value of intelligence-driven police operations and the close partnership between the PNP and the Philippine Army in preventing armed groups from regaining access to fi****ms, ammunition, and other operational resources.
