Congratulations, SDS Melanie P. Estacio 🎉
𝐃𝐑. 𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐍̃𝐎𝐒-𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐎 is the Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Digos City Division, exemplifying visionary leadership in a national context challenged by literacy and learning gaps. Rising from classroom teacher to division superintendent, she has consistently empowered educators and teams to implement strategic, evidence-based solutions that enhance student outcomes.
A graduate of the Master of Arts in Teaching, major in English Language Arts (2002) from the Philippine Normal University, Dr. Estacio led Digos City Divisionto become the sole division in the Davao Region to achieve proficient Grade 6 results in both the English Language Learning and Assessment (ELLNA) and the National Achievement Test (NAT) for two consecutive school years (SY 2023–2024 and SY 2024–2025).
Under her leadership, the division institutionalized responsible use of artificial intelligence in schools and offices, developing the Davao Region’s first Operations Manual on AI Utilization to guide its integration in teaching, learning, and administrative processes. She also spearheaded the creation of eight localized and contextualized curricula aligned with national standards and ensured full implementation of the K-12 program across 48 public schools in Digos City.
Dr. Estacio serves in key national roles, including as a member of the National Technical Working Group on National Assessment and the National Reading Program, and as a resource person on classroom assessment. Balancing professional excellence with personal dedication, she is also a devoted wife and mother of two sons, embodying leadership that integrates both public service and family values.
