Mabini National High School (Davao City) reaffirmed the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility during its first Stakeholdersโ Forum, which gathered representatives from the local government, parents, alumni, industry partners, and various community organizations in a collective effort to strengthen support for the schoolโs educational programs, particularly the Work Immersion Program for Grade 12 learners.
Held at the schoolโs TVL-Home Economics Laboratory, organized by the Public-Private-Partnership Focal Person Dante Jr. A. Baliad, the forum served as a vibrant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and renewed commitment to the schoolโs mission of delivering quality and inclusive education. The event reflected how Mabini NHS continues to thrive through the shared commitment of its stakeholders, showing that genuine partnership and community spirit remain at the heart of meaningful education.
โThe school belongs to the community,โ emphasized School Principal Milrose Yvette Gultiano in her message of appreciation. โAs educators, we are simply stewards entrusted with nurturing the learnersโ growth and potential. It is through our collective effort that we can shape a future grounded on shared purpose and collaboration.โ
The program featured comprehensive presentations on the schoolโs recent accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and future directions. Particular focus was given to enhancing the Work Immersion Program, a vital component of the Senior High School curriculum that provides students with hands-on experience in real-world settings to prepare them for higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship.
โWe are honored to be part of Mabini NHSโs mission to prepare students for the future,โ shared Dโ Japanese Tunnel Operations Manager Gary C. Cerbas. โThrough the Work Immersion Program, we not only open our doors to learners but also help build a skilled and competent workforce for the community.โ
The academe sector also conveyed their support for the schoolโs advocacies. DMMA College of Southern Philippines President Gloria S. Uriarte lauded the forum for fostering open dialogue and cooperation, noting that โwhen schools and communities work hand in hand, the benefits reach every household.โ
The forum concluded with an open commitment-sharing session, during which participants identified key ways forward, including renewal and expansion of partnership agreements, establishment of a participatory monitoring and evaluation system for immersion placements, capacity-building activities for teachers, immersion supervisors, and partner institutions, and creation of a schoolโcommunity committee to sustain partnerships beyond the programโs implementation. All commitments were sealed through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement.
In his synthesis, Asst. School Principal Claide Kinneth Saludar highlighted the heart of the dayโs conversation. โEducation flourishes when the school and community act as one. When we work hand in hand, we do not only educate our learners, we shape a better community for all.โ
With the resounding success of this yearโs Stakeholdersโ Forum, Mabini National High School continues to embody the essence of community-driven education, where every learnerโs success stands not merely as an individual achievement but as a shared victory for an empowered and united community.
