The Department of Tourism – Region XI encourages travelers heading to or passing through areas affected by haze to take the necessary precautions.

If you need to go outdoors, wear an N95 mask or equivalent. Motorists are also advised to use headlights, drive with caution, and wear a mask when traveling with windows open.

Please refer to the latest advisory from the Office of Civil Defense for the areas currently affected and continue monitoring official updates.

Stay alert, stay informed, and travel safely.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🤝

Uniting the public and private sectors is key to tourism growth. Driving this mission forward, the Department of Tourism– Region XI recently supported the Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP) in successfully hosting its Mindanao Regional Consultative Meeting on August 27, 2026 at Dusit Thani Davao.

The said gathering provided a platform for industry stakeholders to share key concerns, exchange perspectives, and explore collaborative opportunities that can help strengthen and advance tourism in Mindanao.

As a partner in this initiative, DOT XI continues to uphold meaningful industry dialogue and collaboration toward a more connected, responsive, and sustainable tourism sector.

To Davao City’s 11 cultural communities: your breathtaking artistry and rich traditions didn’t just dazzle visiting tourists—they reignited the fierce pride of every local who calls this city home. You are the true heartbeat of this celebration!

From vibrant entertainment presentations and street spectacles to incredible arts, culinary and cultural showcases, the real magic of this year’s triumph was the unwavering harmony, resilience, and tenacity of the Dabawenyos. That spirit of oneness surely brought the festival to life and made this year’s Kadayawan truly unforgettable.

Let’s carry this beautiful unity forward. Here’s to an even bigger, bolder, and grander festival next year! Truly, We Are One Kadaya-One!

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀. 🌊🛟

The Department of Tourism – Region XI, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection Region XI, conducted the Swift Water Rescue Awareness Training for DOT-accredited Regional Tour Guides on August 4–6, 2026.

With many of the Davao Region’s tourism experiences taking place around rivers, waterfalls, lakes, coastal areas, and other water-based destinations, preparedness plays an important role in creating safer journeys for both visitors and tourism workers.

The training strengthened participants’ awareness of swift water hazards, personal safety, emergency response procedures, and basic rescue principles.

The activity also marked the first collaborative undertaking between DOT XI and BFP XI, another step toward building a more prepared, responsible, and resilient tourism in the Davao Region.

Because every great adventure should also be a safe one.
