STRENGTHENING POLICE–COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP IN ATAN AWE

In line with Executive Order No. 70, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) RPSB Cluster 14 conducted a Small Group Discussion (SGD) with the Barangay Officials at Purok 6, Barangay Atan Awe, Toril District, Davao City. The activity served as an avenue to discuss peace and order concerns, strengthen coordination, and foster closer cooperation between the police and the community.

🏫 This was followed by a School Visitation and Police Visibility at Atan Awe Elementary School to promote a safe and secure learning environment and strengthen police-community relations.

In line with Executive Order No. 70, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) RPSB Cluster 14 conducted a School Visitation and Dialogue with Mr. Nestor Cadavas, School Principal of NRDP Elementary School, Barangay Sirawan, Toril District, Davao City.

The activity was followed by a Symposium and Orientation for Elementary Teachers on Active Shooter Drills and Bomb Threat Response, aimed at enhancing their awareness, preparedness, and proper response during potential emergencies and security threats.

STRENGTHENING SECURITY THROUGH DIALOGUE & POLICE VISIBILITY 🛡️

In line with Executive Order No. 70, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) RPSB Cluster 14 conducted a dialogue with the security guard of Open Space Café to discuss peace and security concerns and strengthen coordination with private security personnel.

This was followed by police visibility at Sunridge Resort, Purok 2, Brgy. Baracatan, Toril District, Davao City, aimed at enhancing police presence, deterring criminal activities, and ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors.

PNP POSTS 65% TRUST, 63% PERFORMANCE RATINGS IN LATEST OCTA SURVEY

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to earn the confidence of the Filipino people, recording a 65% trust rating and a 63% performance rating in the latest OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa Survey for the second quarter of 2026.

The results place the PNP among the government agencies receiving strong public trust and positive performance assessments during the period, reflecting the public’s recognition of the organization’s continuing efforts to maintain peace and order, protect communities, and provide responsive police services.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. welcomed the results, saying the strong ratings are a meaningful reflection of how the public sees the PNP and its work.

“Malaking bagay sa amin ang resulta ng survey dahil galing mismo ito sa pananaw ng ating mga kababayan. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob nila sa PNP. Gagawin namin itong dagdag na inspirasyon para lalo pang pagbutihin ang aming serbisyo at patunayan araw-araw na karapat-dapat kami sa tiwalang ito.”

The Chief PNP said the ratings further encourage the organization to remain focused on providing police services that are professional, responsive, and respectful of the rights of every citizen.

The results also reinforce the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly efforts under Enhanced Managing Police Operations to make police responses more effective, responsive, and attuned to the needs of communities.

For the PNP, public confidence is strengthened not only by measurable accomplishments, but also by the everyday experiences of people when they interact with police officers—from responding to emergencies and addressing crimes to assisting citizens and helping keep communities safe.

The PNP will continue to support the peace and security priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., while sustaining reforms and initiatives aimed at improving police performance and strengthening public confidence in the organization.

The latest OCTA Research results are an encouraging affirmation for the men and women of the PNP, as well as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with the public’s trust.

PNP ANTI-DRUG DRIVE NETS OVER ₱227 MILLION IN ILLEGAL DRUGS, 12 ARRESTED IN CORDILLERA

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its campaign against illegal drugs in the Cordillera region, resulting in the seizure of more than ₱227 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 12 individuals in operations conducted from August 10 to 16, 2026.

Police units in the Cordillera Administrative Region carried out 17 operations during the period, including ma*****na eradication activities, buy-bust operations, implementation of warrants, and police responses. These efforts led to the recovery of approximately 1.12 million fully grown ma*****na plants, 50,000 seedlings, 150 grams of dried ma*****na leaves and fruiting tops, and 8.49 grams of suspected shabu, with a combined estimated value of ₱227,015,732 based on standard drug pricing.

The 12 arrested individuals are now facing appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operations were carried out by police units across the region, with significant recoveries recorded in Kalinga, Mountain Province, Baguio City, Apayao, and Benguet.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results show the importance of staying consistent in the fight against illegal drugs, especially in areas where ma*****na cultivation continues to be a concern.

“Malaking bagay na napipigilan natin ang mga ito bago pa makarating sa ating mga komunidad. Pero hindi dito nagtatapos ang trabaho. Tuloy lang tayo, kasi bawat operasyon may katumbas na mga pamilyang pinoprotektahan natin,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations form part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens police action through focused operations, proper coordination, and responsible enforcement while respecting the rights of every person.

The PNP continues to work with local communities and partner agencies in support of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to keep communities safe and protect families, especially young people, from the effects of illegal drugs.

PGen Nartatez said the PNP will continue to focus on areas where illegal drugs are being produced or moved, while ensuring that police operations remain within the bounds of the law.
The PNP will sustain lawful and focused operations against illegal drugs while strengthening prevention, community cooperation, and accountability, consistent with its commitment to a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
