IN ACTION | 27IB Strengthens School Safety Through Lockout Drills in Panabo City

On 03 September 2026, Charlie Company of 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, led by Second Lieutenant Orville Cliff V Omotong (MI) PA, Platoon Leader, participated in and evaluated a Lockout Drill conducted at Dalisay Elementary School, Barangay New Malaga, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

The activity, spearheaded by Mr. Winton Mark Coquilla, School Principal, in coordination with the teaching personnel of Dalisay Elementary School, aimed to assess the schoolโ€™s preparedness and response procedures during potential security or emergency situations.

Meanwhile, Sgt Jonathan S Margate (Inf) PA, CMO NCO, together with Dr. Eric Dalumpinis, Public School District Supervisor, Hon. Joanne Buco, Barangay Chairman of Barangay Dalisay, Hon. Ryan Ocat, Barangay Councilor and Committee on Education Chairperson, school personnel, and parents of students from Desiderio F. Dalisay National High School, participated in and evaluated a similar Lockout Drill conducted at the said school.

Spearheaded by Ms. Maria Fe Balatero, School Principal, the drill provided an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of existing emergency response measures, identify areas for improvement, and enhance communication, coordination, and cooperation among military personnel, school officials, parents, barangay authorities, and other stakeholders.

The participation of the 27IB underscores its commitment to strengthening partnerships with the education sector and local communities while promoting school safety, preparedness, vigilance, and collective responsibility. Through collaborative efforts, the Battalion continues to support the establishment of a safe, secure, and resilient learning environment for students, teachers, and the wider community.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY | SERBISYO CARAVAN

On 03 September 2026, Alpha Company of 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, led by Second Lieutenant Mark James Carl J Alison (OS) PA, Platoon Leader, participated in the Serbisyo Caravan held at Barangay Old Gym, Barangay Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The activity was headed by the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Council under the leadership of Hon. Jessielito C. Areja, Barangay Chairman, and featured the delivery of various government and community services aimed at addressing the needs and concerns of the residents of Barangay Malabog.

The participation of the 27IB featured the conduct of an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign through the distribution of leaflets, free haircut services, and the provision of security assistance, contributing to the peaceful and orderly conduct of the activity while enabling residents to conveniently access essential public services.

The activity served as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the partnership and collaboration of the 27IB with the local government unit, and other stakeholders, while reaffirming its commitment to public service, community engagement, unity, and the preservation of peace, security, and community well-being in Barangay Malabog.

On 02 September 2026, Second Lieutenant Mark James Carl J. Alison (OS) PA, Platoon Leader of Alpha Company, 27th Infantry โ€œACTIONโ€ Battalion, Philippine Army, conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign during the School Symposium at Telesforo Singson National High School, Barangay Megkawayan, Calinan District, Davao City.

The activity was initiated by Ms. Perla C. Albit, School Head, facilitated by the Barangay Officials of Barangay Megkawayan, headed by Hon. Alberto Miranda, Peace and Order Committee, and attended by approximately 400 students from Grades 7 to 12. The IEC Campaign focused on the Davao City Culture of Security, Philippine rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), and youth prevention against recruitment and influence by the CPP-NPA-NDF.

Meanwhile, PLT RAJER U. SALAJUDIN of the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) also discussed Active Shooter Awareness and Response, emphasizing the importance of preparedness, vigilance, and appropriate actions during security emergencies.

The activity enhanced the studentsโ€™ awareness of national security, WPS issues, and the importance of preventing youth recruitment and influence by violent extremist groups. It likewise strengthened the partnership between the Philippine Army, the Philippine National Police, the education sector, and the local community in promoting a safe, secure, and resilient learning environment.

IN HONOR OF OUR HEROES | 2026 NATIONAL HEROES DAY

On 31 August 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Eliezer M Bejarin INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony in connection with the observance of National Heroes Day held at Osmeรฑa Park, Davao City.

The celebration was graced by Hon. Sebastian Z. Duterte, City Mayor of Davao, duly represented by Hon. Rodrigo Duterte II, Vice Mayor of Davao City, together with Commodore Irineo D. Battung, Commander, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Also present were other government officials, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and various stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Captain Jamesfer S Aquino (INF) PA, Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, 27IB, also participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony in connection with the observance of National Heroes Day held at Panabo Freedom Park, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

The celebration was graced by Hon. Jose M. Relampagos Jr., City Mayor of Panabo, duly represented by Hon. On August 29, 2026, the Charlie Company, 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, Philippine Army, led by Captain Jamesfer S Aquino (INF) PA, joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles Panabo Central Chapter in a Community Outreach Program at Dalisay Elementary School, Barangay New Malaga, Panabo City, Davao del Norte. Around 100 pupils received essential school supplies to support their studies, while the school also received five (5) gallons of paint and โ‚ฑ10,000.00 in cash assistance for facility improvement and maintenance.

The initiative was led by Mr. Samuel Eblamo, Chapter President and Mr. Aurelliano Garcia, Region II Governor, and warmly welcomed by Mr. Winston Mark Coquilla, School Principal, and Hon. Joanne S. Buco, Brgy Chairperson of New Malaga, Panabo City.

More than just a day of giving, the activity showed what can happen when the Army, civic organizations, local leaders, and schools work hand in hand for the community. For the 27IB, every school supply shared, every smile created, and every helping hand extended is part of a bigger mission to support the youth, strengthen community partnerships, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve.
