Amidst the challenges faced by our nationโrising drug cases, the lingering issue of corruption, poverty, and the continuing problem of communist insurgencyโmany Filipinos, especially the youth, struggle to hold on to hope. Yet, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) continues to serve as a pillar of light, extending its mission beyond the jail walls to help rebuild the faith of our people in a better and brighter tomorrow.
The BJMP believes that the greatest weapon for the future is not forged in steel, but in the hearts and minds of the youthโour hope, our pag-asa.
In line with this, Dapitan City Jail, under the leadership of JSINSP REY C BALLOVAR, conducted an Information Drive on the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and Drug Awareness Orientation this morning, October 7, 2025, at Dapitan City National High School.
The activity aimed to educate and empower students by promoting awareness on the deceptive recruitment strategies of communist terrorist groups and the dangers of illegal drugs that continue to affect families, schools, and communities. Through this initiative, the BJMP encourages the youth to stand firm in their values, make informed choices, and become responsible citizens who uphold peace, discipline, and nation-building.
This effort manifests the BJMPโs unwavering commitment to serve not only Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) but also the community at large, fulfilling its mission to change lives and build a safer nation.
As the nation continues to face trials, the BJMP stands firm in its belief that by guiding and empowering the youth today, we are securing the foundations of a stronger, more peaceful tomorrow.
