Coast Guard Station Zamboanga del Norte proudly took part in the nationwide observance of National Flag Day, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to patriotism, unity, and dedicated service to the Filipino people.

The activity emphasized the importance of the Philippine Flag as a timeless symbol of the nationโ€™s freedom, sovereignty, courage, and identity. Personnel of CGS Zamboanga del Norte participated in the ceremonial flag-raising and collectively renewed their pledge of loyalty, honor, and commitment in upholding the values of service and love for country.

In solidarity with the entire Philippine Coast Guard and the Filipino nation, CGS Zamboanga del Norte continues to honor the sacrifices and heroism of our forefathers while inspiring every Filipino to embody nationalism and unity in building a stronger and more resilient nation.

In celebration of Motherโ€™s Day, the Commander of Coast Guard Station Zamboanga del Norte, CDR Romel B Dua PCG, led a simple yet meaningful tribute to the women personnel of CGS Zamboanga del Norte on 11 May 2026.

The activity served as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation and recognition for the dedication, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions of mothers and women personnel who continuously balance the demands of public service and family life with commitment, resilience, and compassion. In his message, CDR Dua expressed his sincere gratitude to all mothers within the station, emphasizing their vital role in strengthening not only their families but also the organization through their unwavering service, hard work, and dedication.

As part of the regular morale and welfare activities of Coast Guard District Zamboanga del Norte, the โ€œDine with the COโ€ provides a meaningful opportunity for personnel to gather in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, fostering stronger camaraderie, unity, and teamwork within the unit. The activity likewise serves as a valuable avenue for the Commander to personally interact with the personnel, promoting open communication, strengthening rapport, and reinforcing a positive, cohesive, and supportive working environment among all members of the unit.

Coast Guard Station (CGS) Zamboanga del Norte has intensified its maritime patrol operations within its area of responsibility (AOR) to deter unlawful activities, in close coordination with local government units (LGUs) and other law enforcement agencies.

The sustained maritime operations, which started on April 18, 2026, resulted in the seizure of a total of nine (9) motor bancas found in violation of City Ordinance No. 09-213, otherwise known as the Basic Fishery Ordinance, as well as non-compliance with Department of Transportation Memorandum Circular 2017-001 on Safety, Security, Environmental, and Numbering (SSEN) registration requirements. This development highlights the stationโ€™s firm commitment to enforcing maritime laws, ensuring navigational safety, and safe guarding the marine environment.

The PCG reiterates its call to all maritime stakeholders to strictly comply with established maritime laws and regulations. The station further assures the public that intensified patrol operations and strengthened inter-agency coordination will continue to promote the safe, secure, and sustainable use of the countryโ€™s waters.

The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) strongly refutes claims circulating on social media regarding its alleged involvement in the arrest of six (6) Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel during a joint anti-smuggling operation in Misamis Oriental.

CGDSWM clarifies that the individuals involved are not under its command or administrative jurisdiction. Based on official records, no CGDSWM personnel are involved, and the District has no connection to the said incident.

The public is urged to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified information. CGDSWM remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the faithful ex*****on of its mandate.
