Western Abra National High School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Danglas, Hon. Mayor Esther Blando-Bernos, for her generous financial support to our Palarong Pambansa Basketball Team who will proudly represent CAR at the national level in Agusan del Sur.

Twenty thousand pesos in cash was handed to the coach and athletes through the School Head, Ma’am Perlita G. Bersamin. This meaningful act of generosity and encouragement greatly inspires our athletes as they prepare to compete and bring pride to the region.

Western Abra National High School sincerely thanks Mayor EBB for her support to the youth and to sports development.

WANHS Officially Opens ARAL Summer Class 2026

Today marked the opening of the ARAL Summer Class at Western Abra National High School, with a promising turnout of learners showing enthusiasm and readiness to participate in the program. The positive attendance during the first day reflects the learners’ eagerness to improve their academic performance and make productive use of their summer break.

Before the formal start of the classes, learners and teachers gathered at the school gymnasium for important reminders. The School Head, Ma’am Perlita G. Bersamin, encouraged the learners to actively participate and remain committed throughout the duration of the program. Meanwhile, the Reading Coordinator, Ma’am Analyn B. Taverner, discussed essential guidelines and expectations to ensure the smooth conduct of the classes.

The school nurse also provided health reminders, emphasizing the importance of proper hydration, healthy habits, and taking care of one’s well-being while attending the summer classes.

With the support of the school administration, teachers, and parents, the ARAL Summer Class aims to provide meaningful learning experiences that will help learners strengthen their academic skills and readiness for the coming school year.

Western Abra National High School proudly received recognition from the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Abra during the 4th Division Management Committee Meeting held on May 4–6, 2026.

The awards were received by Ma’am Lilia G. Oca, Head Teacher III, on behalf of Ma’am Perlita G. Bersamin who is on a regional training.

These recognitions reflect Western Abra National High School’s strong dedication to excellence and quality education. With the continuous support of its dedicated teachers, stakeholders, and the leadership of Ma’am Pearl, the school remains steadfast in delivering outstanding service and achieving greater milestones in the future.

WANHS Conducts ARAL Program Orientation

Today, the school’s Reading Program, led by Reading Coordinator Ma’am Analyn B. Taverner, Master Teacher I, conducted the ARAL Program Orientation at the school gymnasium, with the full support of School Head Ma’am Perlita G. Bersamin, who spearheaded the planning of the activity's conduct.

The activity was attended by parents, guardians, and identified ARAL Program learners, highlighting the school’s commitment to collaborative support for reading development.

During the orientation, Ma’am Taverner discussed the program’s schedule, sectioning, and implementation guidelines to ensure that all stakeholders are well-informed and prepared for the conduct of the program.

In addition, the school nurse shared important information regarding health support services for ARAL participants and emphasized the importance of maintaining learners’ overall well-being throughout the program.

The activity concluded with a pledge of commitment from the parents, learners, and teachers, signifying their shared responsibility in ensuring the success of the ARAL Program.
