The Local Government Unit of Danglas headed by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Russell A. Bragas,PhD thru the Local Youth Development Office of Danglas successfully conducted the Proyekto Bantay Barangay Kontra Droga, a whole-day Symposium for the Grade 7 learners and BKD Officers last November 20, 2025 at Western Abra National High School.

The PNP Danglas discussed about the Classification of Drugs and Common Signs of Drugs, Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165), RA 8353 and other Municipal Ordinances while the RHU Danglas talked about the Effects of Drugs. The School's Guidance Designate discussed about the Student Struggles and Factors to Handle Problems.

DISTRIBUTION OF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES IN CELEBRATION OF THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MONTH.

The Local Government Unit of Danglas headed by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, PhD distributed educational assistance and school supplies to the 16 Grade 6 pupils in recognition for their remarkable academic achievement for the 2nd Quarter, S.Y 2025-2026 in the whole Danglas District. This is to encourage children to continously persevere in their studies despite challenges.

The Local Government Unit of Danglas headed by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty.Russell A. Bragas, PhD. through the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) initiated a weekly thematic focus comprising several activities addressing the rights of children. Today, it highlighted the Rights for Survival that covers the child's right to live and be provided with basic needs, food, shelter and appropriate living conditions and medical care.

In this connection, LGU Danglas distributed goodies to 62 kindergarten learners in the whole Danglas District .This brought great smiles to their faces together with the parents.

GIFT GIVING IN CELEBRATION OF THE 33rd NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MONTH. . .

Exactly 471 learners from kindergarten to Grade 6 in the whole Elementary Danglas District received tumblers, umbrellas and lunchboxes they can use every day in going to school and various school events. By offering simple and essential resources, this undertaking had a meaningful impact on the children and to their parents to fully attend and participate in the school.

This initiative was made possible through the unwavering support of Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, PhD facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Danglas.

The Local Government Unit of Danglas headed by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, PhD thru the Department Of Labor and Employment (DOLE-Abra) conducted Career Coaching and Career Pathway Orientation for Grade 10 students of Western Abra National High School.

Career coaching is essential for Grade 10 learners as they prepare to choose their SHS track. At this stage, students need quidance to understand their interests, strenqths, career goals, and the different SHS tracks and possible future careers. This program aims to equip learners with the right knowledge, confidence, and motivation to make informed decisions.

First aid is for everyone. It is a crucial life skill that all people, regardless of age, can learn and practice to save lives!

The Municipality of Danglas headed by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, PhD. tapped Philippine Red Cross-Abra Chapter as the lecturer on Junior First Aid as part of Celebration of the National Children's Month 2025. There were 50 participants from Grade 5 and 6 in the whole Elementary Danglas District underwent the Junior First Aider Program (JFAP). Their Health and WASH Teams also led a lecture and demonstration on proper hygiene and sanitation practices,emphasizing the importance of hand washing in preventing illnesses and promoting overall health.
Afterwards, hot meals were served to all kids and other participants.

BCPC and LCPC Training on Child Custody and Child Support. . .

The Municipality of Danglas under the leadership of Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas,PhD. through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Mrs.Helen Grace T. Aganad, conducted capacity building for the BCPC and LCPC as part of the celebration on the 33rd National Children's Month 2025.

The activity was attended by members of the Barangay and Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (B/LCPC), who actively participated in the discussions to enhance their capacity in handling child custody and child support within their respective community.

Atty.Materno Marcos Ma. G. Cariño - Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Lagangilang District was invited as the resource speaker also discussed the role of BCPC and LCPC on the aforementioned topics.

Through this initiative, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of every child. By empowering B/LCPC members with the right knowledge and skills, the Municipality of Danglas strengthens its foundation for building a community where every child is safe, valued, and given the chance to belong in a loving community.

33rd KICK-OFF IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DANGLAS IN CELEBRATION OF THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MONTH 2025.

To officially kick -off the celebration of the National Children's Month, the Municipal Government of Danglas through the Local Council for the Protection of Children ( LCPC) Government Unit of Danglas spearheaded by Mayor Esther B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas,PhD. 74 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) children were treated to a half-day celebration , packed with exciting activities and surprises prepared by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office ( MSWDO) . It became more enjoyable in collaboration with Pandayan Superstores Inc. where they did story telling, parlor games , mascot shows, giving of prices , giveaways and Jolibee meals which brought extra joy to the young participants .

Another part of the program was performed by the Rural Health Unit of Danglas thru a lecture on Basic Oral Health followed by the distribution of toothbrush , toothpaste and soap.

The LGU has lined up more activities throughout the month carrying the theme " Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” which translates to "End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation "

Municipal Mayor Esther Bernos delivered the 2025 State of the Municipality Address before a special session of the Sangguniang Bayan of Danglas, presided over by Vice Mayor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, PhD. The session was attended by the Sangguniang Bayan Members, representatives from various local government agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders. The event was further honored by the presence of Hon. DSWD UndersecretaryDenise Florence Bernos- Bragas MD,RSW.

Mayor Bernos highlighted key accomplishments in governance, social services, economic development, infrastructure, environmental management, and institutional strengthening.

The Address reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to unity, resilience, and accountable public service as the municipality continues its path toward sustainable growth and a more progressive, peaceful, and people-centered Danglas.
