Today, on this solemn observance of Ash Wednesday, the Bureau of Fire Protection joins our Christian brothers and sisters in reflection, prayer, and renewal as the Lenten season begins.

As a service rooted in courage, compassion, and sacrifice, we honor this sacred time as a reminder of humility, accountability, and our shared responsibility to serve others with integrity and love.

At the same time, we extend our deepest respect to our Muslim brothers and sisters, as well as to all members of different faiths and beliefs. The BFP stands united in diversity — bound not only by duty, but by mutual respect, understanding, and solidarity.

May this day inspire all of us, regardless of faith, to strengthen our commitment to service, peace, and the protection of life and community.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is institutionalizing the use of Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs) or Push-to-Talk over cellular (PoC) to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust during fire safety inspections. This initiative is a core part of the BFP’s FIRES program, which focuses on integrity monitoring and internal cleansing to protect the rights of both fire safety enforcers and the community. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism as we modernize for a safer Philippines.
