STATEMENT
from Banha Sa Balud: Live Music Concert Organizing Committee
We understand and acknowledge the concerns and outpouring of reactions from the public regarding the imposition of entrance fees for the Phylum Concert, especially with questions being raised as to why there is an entrance fee when the event is sponsored and supported through the Barangay Socio-Fund budget.
To clarify, the sponsorship and the allocated Barangay Socio-Fund budget serve as the primary funding support for the event. However, organizing a large-scale concert entails various additional operational and logistical requirements. The proceeds from the entrance fees are intended to help cover these necessary operating expenses that arise in the actual implementation of the event, particularly the additional manpower, security, logistics, equipment, and other requirements needed to ensure the concert runs smoothly and safely.
The imposition of an entrance fee is therefore not intended to disregard or duplicate the funding provided for the event, but to help address the additional costs associated with staging a major event.
We also understand that the public deserves clarity on how the funds are utilized. Transparency is our commitment. After the event, we will release a transparency report detailing the income and expenses related to the concert for everyoneโs information and reference.
We appreciate the publicโs questions and concerns, and we hope this clarification provides a better understanding of the purpose of the entrance fee.
