"Sa isang iglap, lahat nagbago.”
On August 1, 2025, a tragic motorcycle crash in Barangay Balintawak, Pagadian City claimed the lives of two female students and left their male classmate seriously injured.
According to verified reports from Brigada News and other local sources, the three students were riding a Honda Click 125 downhill when their motorcycle reportedly lost its brakes and slammed into a private residence. Walang suot na helmet ang tatlo, and none of them had a driver’s license, according to initial police findings. The two girls died on the spot, while the male driver is currently undergoing treatment for serious head injuries.
They were identified in memorial posts as Teffanie Saipudin and Jonalyn Oliva, both 17-year-old students of Zamboanga del Sur National High School. The driver, named “Shane” or “Stanley” in reports, survived but is in critical condition.
Nakakagulantang. These weren’t just headlines—these were children, classmates, and beloved daughters. What was meant to be a normal school day ended in an irreversible loss.
This incident isn’t just a reminder—it’s a wake-up call.
Motorcycles are not toys. They demand responsibility, awareness, and proper safety measures. Helmets, licenses, and following traffic rules can literally mean the difference between life and death.
To the youth:
Your life is more valuable than speed, thrill, or convenience.
Wearing a helmet, slowing down, and saying “no” to unsafe rides may feel uncool—but trust us, coming home alive is the real win.
To parents and guardians:
Talk to your children—not just about their studies, but about real-life risks. Know who they ride with, what they ride, and if they’re prepared for the road.
To the community:
Let’s not wait for another tragedy before we advocate for safer roads, better enforcement, and deeper awareness.
🙏 May Teffanie and Jonalyn rest in peace.
May the survivor heal not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
And may this painful story protect countless other lives in the future.
📢 Let’s spread awareness.
Kung mahal natin ang kabataan, let’s guide them with truth, safety, and love. 💛
