🌱🏚️ Turning Plastics into Hope for Daanbantayan 🏚️🌱

In light of the recent calamity, we know that many of our fellow Kandayan-ons have had their homes damaged by the earthquake and are now in need of rebuilding. To help, the MENRO Daanbantayan is extending support through an innovative waste to resource initiative.

For every 2 kilogram of plastic bottles or plastic residuals (those from relief goods) you turn in, you will receive:

✅ 3 eco hollow blocks, or
✅ 2 bags of eco sand / shredded glass bottles.

This program not only reduces plastic waste, but also transforms it into eco-materials that can help us rebuild our homes and strengthen our community.

Together, let’s transform challenges into opportunities building a future of renewal, resilience, and sustainability for Daanbantayan. 🌍

LOOK:After a day of cancellation at the Gabii sa Kandaya due to heavy rainfall and the need for tent restoration, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation (SKF) demonstrated the true essence of Bayanihan. The Filipino spirit of unity and cooperation, Despite the challenges brought by the weather, the SKF came together to help vendors and fellow organizers rebuild and restore the venue, ensuring that the event could still continue.

Through teamwork, dedication, and resourcefulness, the SKF found ways to solve the problem and make it possible for vendors to resume their selling activities.
The newly renovated big tents now provide safer and more secure shelter for everyone, proving that even in the face of setbacks, a united community can always rise above and make things happen.

To the sectoral heads, GSO, MENRU, CSU, and Daanbantayan Municipal Officials, thank you for your unwavering support and assistance throughout the restoration process. Your help made a big difference.

A Night to Remember: Celebrating Gabii sa Kandaya

A vibrant celebration of culture, community, and youth leadership unfolded during the grand launching of Gabii sa Kandaya, held at the picturesque Daanbantayan Baywalk. The event was graced by the honorable Congressman Sun J. Shimura, along with Vice Mayor Ali Abucay and SB Member Wendell Rosell, whose presence brought inspiration and pride to the people of Daanbantayan.

One of the highlights of the evening was the launch of the SK Initiative, which gathered enthusiastic participation from the youth sector. The program was proudly attended by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, led by SKF President Crystal Jo Rodrigo, showcasing the passion and dedication of young leaders committed to making a positive impact in Daanbantayan.

The Gabii sa Kandaya marks a new chapter in the municipality’s cultural and tourism initiatives, bringing people together through art, heritage, and the spirit of bayanihan. 🌟

We regret to announce that tonight’s selling is postponed until further notice due to the current low-pressure weather condition and the need to install new tents after several were damaged by strong winds and heavy rainfall last night.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The safety and well-being of our vendors, staff, and guests remain our top priority, and we are taking the necessary steps to restore the venue to a safe and fully operational condition.

As part of these adjustments, please be informed that once operations resume, selling will begin at 1:00 PM instead of the usual evening schedule. An official announcement regarding the exact date of resumption will be released soon.

We deeply appreciate the public’s patience, understanding, and continued support. Rest assured, the Gabii sa Kandaya Team is working diligently to ensure a safer and better experience for everyone.
