An Orientation on the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the DSWD Region VI in partnership with the PDAO Antique ,thru Reach Independent Sustainable Entrepreneurship (RISE) Training and the PDAO Culasi, was conducted on March 13, 2026 for Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the Municipality of Culasi. The activity aimed to inform and guide PWD beneficiaries about the available livelihood opportunities and support provided by the program.
During the orientation, representatives discussed the objectives of the Sustainable Livelihood Program, which focuses on improving the economic capacity of vulnerable sectors, including PWDs, by providing access to livelihood assistance, skills development, and financial support for income-generating activities. The participants were introduced to the different modalities of the program, such as micro-enterprise development and employment facilitation, which can help beneficiaries start small businesses or gain employment.
The orientation also highlighted the qualifications, requirements, and procedures for availing of the program. Participants were encouraged to actively participate in livelihood activities and maximize the opportunities provided by the government to enhance their economic independence and improve their quality of life.
The activity served as an important step in empowering Persons with Disability in Culasi by promoting inclusive development and ensuring that they are given equal opportunities to participate in sustainable livelihood initiatives within the community.
