MOST Deputy Minister Jehan Usop, MAPDS accompanied the Nordic Ambassadors — Christian Lyster (Norway), Anna Ferry (Sweden), Saija Nurminen (Finland), and Franz-Michael Skjold Melbin (Denmark) together with Nik Delfin, Senior Adviser of Norway, during their courtesy visit yesterday, September 17. The visit became an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and highlight the shared vision of sustaining peace and development in the Bangsamoro region.

In the discussions, the Nordic Ambassadors reaffirmed their support to the ongoing peace process, emphasizing cooperation in promoting stability and moral governance. These conversations reflect the growing international solidarity with the Bangsamoro in its journey toward lasting peace.

Isang taos-pusong pagtanggap ang ibinigay ng Bangsamoro sa ating mga bisita. Higit pa sa pormal na pag-uusap, ang kanilang pagdating ay simbolo ng pagkakaibigan at pagkakaisa. Bukas ang aming puso at tahanan sa mga kaibigang nagnanais makiisa sa ating layunin para sa isang mas matatag at mapayapang Bangsamoro. 💚

Deputy Minister Jehan Amells Usop, MAPDS, expressed full support for the 2025 BARMM Rising Tourism Summit, held on September 16, 2025, at the KCC Mall Convention Hall, highlighting the role of culture, peace, and innovation in building a sustainable future for the Bangsamoro.

The gathering also marked the launch of the Bangsamoro Tourism Development Plan 2024–2033 and the unveiling of the Heritage Pavilion, a showcase of the region’s rich history and traditions under the theme “BARMM Rising: Heritage to Horizon.”

This historic event was personally attended by Department of Tourism - Philippines Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, spearheaded by the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism - BARMM with Minister Farserina A. Mohammad, BARMM officials, foreign dignitaries, LGUs, private sector partners, and key tourism stakeholders—all united in pursuit of positioning the Bangsamoro not only as a destination, but also as a symbol of limitless potential.

As Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, I had the privilege to personally join the onsite monitoring of two funded researches under the BRACE Project in Lanao del Norte. This initiative underscores our shared commitment to ensuring that government-funded studies are not only implemented effectively but also aligned with the needs of our communities.

Through meaningful discussions with the project teams, I witnessed the dedication of our researchers in advancing aquaculture and biodiversity studies that will contribute to food security, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic growth in the Bangsamoro region.

MOST remains committed to fostering a research ecosystem that values transparency and accountability, all for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people.

The BARMM Health Research and Development Consortium (BHRDC) recently held its 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 at MSU–Marawi. On behalf of Minister Baileng Mantawil, I had the honor to preside over the session, where we discussed updates, new initiatives, and welcomed new members into the consortium.

The Ministry of Science and Technology remains committed to its mandate of advancing ethical and relevant health research. Together with our partners from the academe, government, and health institutions, we continue to build a healthier and more resilient Bangsamoro.

I sincerely congratulate Ms. Baileng S. Mantawil, on her official designation as Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) BARMM, as conferred by the Office of the Chief Minister Special Order No. 0637, series of 2025.

It has been an honor to serve the ministry as Acting Minister, and I am humbled to continue supporting our shared mission as Deputy Minister. I warmly welcome Minister Mantawil’s leadership, confident that under her stewardship, MOST will further strengthen its role in advancing science, technology, and innovation in the Bangsamoro region.

Guided by the vision and leadership of Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, we in MOST remain steadfast in fulfilling our mandate to harness science and technology as vital tools for sustainable development and the empowerment of the Bangsamoro people.

The Ministry of Science and Technology, led by Acting Minister Jehan A. Usop, MAPDS, participated in the 18th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week Celebration held on August 13–15, 2025, at The Marison Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.

With the theme "One Health for All: Igniting Transdisciplinary Solutions for a Healthier Philippines", the event highlighted the importance of combining expertise from different fields to address the country’s health challenges.

Over the course of three days, the celebration featured opening ceremonies, research competitions, poster presentations and plenary sessions, all aimed at promoting health research and innovation for the benefit of Filipino communities.

MOST’s participation reflected its strong commitment to advancing science-based solutions and supporting initiatives that improve public health in BARMM and beyond.
