The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) strongly condemns the tragic and senseless killing of Prince Mohadz Rafsanjanie Matanog, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson of Poblacion V, Cotabato City, and his brother Muamar Salvador Matanog on October 4, 2025.

Chairperson Matanog was a promising young leader whose passion for service and commitment to the youth sector once resonated through 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘸’s platform. His life and leadership symbolized the hope and aspirations of a generation determined to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The MILG stands with the bereaved family and the youth of Cotabato City in mourning his loss and calls on the authorities to pursue a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure that justice is served.

Acts of violence against those who choose the path of service must never be tolerated. The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to protect and empower young leaders who continue to uphold the values of peace, moral governance, and public service in the Bangsamoro.
