LOOK! Strengthening partnerships for a thriving Bangsamoro tourism industry.

Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) Minister Farserina Mohammad-Isnaji paid a courtesy visit to Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) Minister Jordan S. Bayam to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at promoting the tourism sector across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The meeting underscored the vital role of local government units (LGUs) in showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage, natural attractions, and unique identity, while highlighting the importance of a strong partnership between MTIT and MILG in advancing tourism-driven development at the local level.

Both ministers emphasized the need for closer coordination in empowering BARMM LGUs to become active partners in tourism promotion through strengthened governance, community engagement, and sustainable development initiatives. Minister Bayam reaffirmed MILG’s commitment to supporting programs that enhance local capacities and create opportunities for economic growth, while Minister Mohammad-Isnaji highlighted tourism as a key driver of progress and cultural preservation.

Together, the two ministries continue to pave the way for a more vibrant, inclusive, and globally recognized Bangsamoro tourism landscape.

MILG-BARMM Leads Assessment of Risk-Informed Development Plans for Cotabato City and SGA Municipalities

COTABATO CITY – The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG)-BARMM, through its Local Government Development Division (LGDD) under the Operations Management Services (OMS), conducted the Assessment of Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plans (CDP+) of Cotabato City and the Special Geographic Area (SGA) Municipalities, coupled with a Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Orientation for the Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA), on June 1–2, 2026 at Haraya Hall, Mall of Alnor, Cotabato City.

The two-day activity gathered representatives from Cotabato City, the eight municipalities of the Special Geographic Area, members of the BARMM Comprehensive Development Plan Technical Assessment Committee (CDP-TAC), SGADA officials, and personnel from the MILG-Special Geographic Area Field Office to advance the implementation of risk-informed and responsive local development planning across the region.

Ngayong araw ay nabigyan ng Bangsamoro READi ang 2,500 pamilyang apektado ng baha sa Sultan sa Barongis (SSB) sa lalawigan ng Maguindanao del Sur. Nanatiling babad sa tubig baha ang ilang barangay sa SSB ngunit hindi pa rin nagsisilikas ang mamamayan. Sa pakikipag tulungan ni Hon. Allandatu M. Angas Sr., alkalde ng nasabing bayan, ay maayos na naipamahagi ng regional emergency office ang mga foodpacks na naglalaman ng bigas, delata, at instant coffee sa mga pamilyang apektado ng baha.

Namahagi naman ng Disaster Affected Family Access Card (DAFAC) ang MDRRMO SSB, upang masigurong makakarating sa dapat pagbigyan o totoong apektado ang mga food packs. Nagpasalamat naman si Mayor Angas kay BDRRMC Chairman and BARMM Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacau at MILG Minister Jordan Bayam sa tulong na naipaabot ng regional government. Sa ngayon, tuloy tuloy pa rin ang ginagawang monitoring ng Bangsamoro READi sa lagay ng panahon at sa sitwasyon sa mga lalawigan.
